I think it depends on your group that is going.  Moon Grand is by far the nicest but also the quiestest and most relaxing so if you are wanting something private and quieter that is probably the place.  Nizuc was a bit run down in my opinion, but it is in the center of both sides so you can get around a bit easier that way.  Also this is where the Catholic Chapel and a couple of the Gazebos are if you are getting married in any of those you will be closer.  We stayed on the Sunrise were most of the action was.  They have a DJ and games going on by the pool (my brother-in-law won the drinking contest), this side also has the kids section so if guests are bringing kids they might want to be closer to this.  This lobby also has the Disco and the nightly shows.  All of the sides have a salon.  Hope this helps.

Allison, thank you SO much for your info. It definitely helps! Would you happen to know how the views in the Grand are? I've heard they are rather nonexistent, but feel better getting info from other brides here. We're doing a beach wedding, so chapel locations aren't important. We have a young adult group going, and personally, I don't think it'll be a problem to hike back and forth between sections. If anything, it'll help me digest my food and not look so bloated while stuffing my face for four days on all inclusives and unlimited room service before my wedding! hehe 

 

How nice is the Sunrise section? Were there ocean views there?

i have a few of the views of the Ocean and the Sunrise section.  Sorry I don't have any of the other sections as we didn't stay there very long (with the exception of my wedding)

How did you guys get  a section booked already for Novemeber weddings? the Miami WC said that we cant book a certain section and that they put you whereever they can???? We are paying for our whole trip next week and I dont feel comfortable not knowing what side I am paying for.

 

Did anyone else have a problem with this?

When we did our group contract she asked which section we preferred, grand, nizuc or sunrise. I initially chose Grand so we could have the bigger rooms, but there is limited ocean views so we asked to be moved to Sunrise. The reservation number changes based on section... MPG -xxxxxxx, MPN-xxxxxx or MPS-xxxxxx

We are getting married in May but we booked our trip last July. We were allowed then to selected the section for our group. They even let us pick a specific room for FI and I (we wanted a room on the grand side that we saw on trip advisors, it is one of the few Grand rooms with an ocean view). My contract even says what section my group is booked in. Be persistant, you are paying!

I have similar situation. I'm trying to block off rooms in Sunrise section and my Miami WC gives me such a hard time. She told me that I can't choose section let alone specific building. I'm trying to see if TA will be able to assist me with room block better than Miami WC.

I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners.
