Cruises that stay docked for a night?

I have been trying to do a lot of research on cruises, and was hoping any of you fine folks would be able to point me in the direction of a sailing that will port for an evening while out at sea. I want to hold a small ceremony with family and a couple of close friends, but i don't want to be married ON the ship itself. I would love to have a wedding on an island and enjoy the afternoon into the evening without feeling rushed to get back onto the ship. Can you all help me?

Easy Cruise docks for most of the night until 4AM, but they don't cruise the Carribean any more. They only cruise in the Aegian and the Greek Isles now. I think the hawaiian island cruises dock over night, but I don't know of any in the Carribean. Maybe someone else knows more, or you can find a private or smaller cruise company. I have a friend who is a captain. I'll ask him this weekend how one would go about renting a boat and captain. How many people and how much per person were you expecting them to spend?

I was expecting about 30 people at very maximum, more likely 20, and i was hoping to find deals like those that have been posted on the larger commercial cruises. I don't know about having a smaller ship. I'm sure it would frighten me and/or make me sea-sick lol... that, and i'm trying to include my nieces and nephews in the 'festivities' so i was looking for something through someone like Carnival. I'm prolly stuck, huh lol..

Yup, I was just going to mention the Bahamas cruise! I'm taking it in March or April of next year and it docks over night. There are some (Carnival) which dock overnight in nassau and some in Freeport.

During the time period I'm looking at it's about 300-400 pp for an inside cabin and around 350-450 for a window cabin. Balcony cabins are around 500.

Most of the cruises are 3-5 nights as well.

Good luck!

Most cruises to Bermuda stay docked overnight, often for more than one day. They do not however go to any other ports if they stay docked for that long, so I don't know if that is an option for you. Take a look at Royal Caribbean and NCL, as they are the ones with the best Bermuda Itineraries. Holland America is adding some Bermuda itineraries for 2010, so you could take a look at them as well.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
