Best foundation etc for photos

Recommended Posts

I use the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer on a daily basis, and I totally recommend it. It keeps my make-up put long into the rush hour. I can't say the same before the smashbox.

I may use MAC make-up for the wedding, though.

I went to Sephora last night and took the plunge - and spent waaaayyy more than I should have LOL.

I ended up getting the MUFE primer and foundation, which looked really nice and felt super light. I also got lip and eye liner from this line.

I got bronzer, blush, lip gloss and mascara from Lorac, and I got Smashbox eye primer.

Yup, I spent toooo much, but the make up looked fabulous and felt so nice! Everyone kept telling me it looked so light and natural, even my FI, but I felt like I had a face full of makeup because I don't wear anything except moisturizer on a daily basis.

After, my FI and I grabbed coffees from Caribou, and I noticed every time I took a sip, I would have a little foundation blot on the top of my cup from my nose. This annoyed me, because now I'm wondering if I put my face on FI's white shirt, will it leave a huge foundation mark?

Anyone who's use MUFE HD experience that? How do I get it to stay on my face, not on other thingshuh.gif

Hey Nina,

Maybe try using the MAC spray on top of your makeup stuff. It really helped keep mine from rubbing off on my husband's white shirt (or my dress while I was putting it on!). It also kept my makeup on all day throughout the hot hot sun.

Ditto to all the primer recommendations. It's your BFF when it comes to photos as well as a good photog who knows how to air brush properly hehe. The combo works wonders!

not a silly question at all ~ from what I've seen primer is usually in the liquid/cream form and yes there are different types used as a base for foundation, shadow, lips. It helps keep the color fresh and application smooth. wink.gif

So I am a self-admitted makeup whore...I simply cannot stop trying and buying products wink.gif Makeup is so much fun!!

Anywho, on the advice of my makeup stylist she suggested we try Laura Mercier's oil-free stick foundations for the wedding to avoid oiliness/sweat/shine since Cancun is hella hot in June. I did my trial over the weekend and it worked fabulously. I ADORE LM's stick foundation and highly recommend it. She also used LM's translucent powder to help control shine and topped it off with Skindanavia setting spray ~ ALL worked great!!!

Here's a link to my makeup trial with before and after pics ~ I think the products produced great photo results: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t43551

I haven't bought anything but the HALO powder yet but they gave me a lot of samples. One of the samples was a MUFE finishing powder.... I don't know if this helps prevent that or not but you may want to ask about it. MUFE also has spray that you spray you face periodically with to keep your makeup lasting through the day.

I am not trying the samples at work during the week but will be giving them a run this weekend starting on Friday. I will have to watch for the nose spots and spots on FI's shirt!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
