Just an FYI about flowers.....

Recommended Posts

For those of you who are planning DW at Sandals or Beaches..... The flowers that are included in the carefree wedding package are daisies or carnations.. To

Upgrade it will cost anywhere from 120 to 350 dollars depending on the bouquet and the number of flowers in the bouquet. Feel

free to email me. [email protected] and I will forward you the floral catalog and the price list.

Also....the flowers for your hair are orchids and you get to pick a color ($15).

This "CAREFREE" wedding of mine is starting to get expensive! I am also considering a silk bouquet- otherwise I should just sign over my first born child to Sandals. Pictures, hair appointment, bouquet...... When will the additional costs end?.... :)

I am nervous about pics too. This is one occasion that you can't re-do! I definitely am going to question the photographer if they will use a flash because on a lot of Sandals photos, couples have shadows on their faces.

These extras are def adding up. Does anyone have a photographer I can stuff into my suitcase?

Oh and I am sure this has been brought up before but what is up with the $75.00 pp reception?? HELLO? It is an all inclusive resort!

A couple of notes to put things in perspective on the additional costssmile03.gif-

Try pricing out the same exact items & quality at home and see how quickly it all adds up! Don't forget to add in the items that Sandals / Beaches are including for free, such as your official, location, cake & champagne toast for B&G, taking the time to process the paperwork for you, having a WC both prior & onsite to assist with ideas and booking entertainment vendors, flowers ect-that's almost a full time job running around at home getting all of that done and as the saying goes....time is money!

Weddings, unfortunately, can add up rather quickly and are expensive!

One thing to keep in mind is that with the photo packages you get the rights to have those reproduced- it may seem pricey on the initial outlay and many that haven't priced out wedding photographers at home & the package inclusions and additional fees tend to get sticker stock! But to get those rights at home usually cost at least a couple of grand on top of the photographers fee for just coming to the wedding! Of course it depends on the area you live in but most photographers will not release those rights- all pictures have to be reproduced by them or again you will pay a hefty fee to secure th erights to your own photos!!

I also wanted to address the charges for a private sit down 3 course meal- first off, you aren't required to book it, with 10 rooms you get a free 30 minute champagne & appetizer reception. However if you want it private and more elaborate for you & your guests then Sandals / Beaches (or any other AI resort for that matter :) ) has to dedicate additional staff for setting up the area, prepping, cooking and cleaning the kitchen area that they used for your specific menu, serving, bar tending and clean up of the dining area. The staff will likely be at work before your wedding even starts and will be at work long after your gone! These individuals are only there for you! If they were to pull staff from other areas it would negativly impact the rest of the guests and if I was on vacation and that happened to me- 25% of the staff were working a wedding- I'd be pretty irate!

Anyways I hope that helps to explain the fee a little better for the private reception costs and other add ons- I know it's a big question with new DW brides!

I did not worry about anything "extra". I went with the completely basic package and ordered a few pics Ala Carte. Every things turned out beautiful and was COMPLETELY care-free. The biggest stress of the day was that we forgot to eat between laying in the pool, then getting our hair done and then getting dressed. By the time we actually sat down for dinner we were famished...lol Considering that is the only thing I have to complain about, I think we were in pretty good shape. Let your wedding be as it should- stress free and beautiful. What else do you need besides you, your groom and beautiful Jamaicahuh.gif Everything else will fall in place!

For Sandals, check out the Signature Package, it includes bouquet of roses *pink red or white, boutonniere, single entertainer for an hour, reception, 12 5x7 pics, DVD, Pedicure for Bride and 1/2 hr massage for the Groom, etc. $1600 in Jamaica $1700 for all other islands. Seems to be worth the money instead of buying everything seperately. So excited!!!!!!!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
