I have to second what sycamoretree and torontogirloutwest have said about continuing to attempt to contact Pamela at Milamores. It can take a while for her to respond, but she will and she is very friendly. I understand that it can be frustrating!

I also agree that contacting Malisa (another member of the BDW forum) will be VERY helpful. She has a great relationship with the owners of Milamores and is supporting them while their website is down. She has been working with me and my FI in making arrangements for our guests at Milamores which has been significantly helpful! I am hearing back from my guests who have started making reservations through Malisa's website Destination Scout that she has been really helpful, and easy to talk to and work with.

I hope this helps!

Hi everyone,

I am so happy for this thread on Milamores. It looks like an amazing place that I am very interested in having my wedding at. I'm not having my wedding until May 2011, but I am trying to get ideas now. Does anyone know how much it costs to stay at Milamores? The website is down, so I don't know anything about the place. So, after reading some posts, is it safe to say that it costs about $150 p/p for reception? And this cost only covers food and drinks?

I look forward to hearing back from you all who have actually seen the place, and I look forward to hearing about those of you who will be getting married there this year.

We visited Milamores in May of this year to scout it out for a wedding location. It was a bit of a dark horse candidate but as soon as we saw it we were sold. It is very charming and the location is beautiful. The owners are great as well they dropped what they were doing to give us a tour and had a cold drink waiting for us afterwards.

The $150 covers food, drink and all the set up incl a 5 course meal (their chef is excellent) 4 hours of open bar and half a bottle of wine per person at dinner. They would probably be willing to work with you on the cost of the reception if you didn't want open bar but we decided that the cost was not too bad compared to other venues even at $150pp. Check out destinationscout.com for pricing and pictures of many of the rooms there. Malisa (the destination scout) is a member of this forum and will be very helpful in getting in touch with Pamela at Milamores. I would recommend contacting Malisa but you could also try contacting directly at info.milamorestulum@gmail.com

Thanks for the info. Sycamore Tree!

There is something exciting about this venue...I am interested to see how your wedding turns out! When is your wedding exactly?

So as far as Mil Amores being a place to stay, do you think the rooms are nice, is it close to any other restaurants?

thanks, Valenka

You're welcome. Our wedding is May 8th 2010 so we were pretty well ahead of the game when we went down there. We didn't stay at Milamores when we went down the first time but the rooms looked really nice when Pamela gave us the tour. Did you check out Malisa's website? There are tons of pictures there that can give you an idea of the rooms.

As for restaurants it is fairly far down the beach so it is not as central as say Ana y Jose but I think one of the best restaurants in the area is very close (I think it is called Hechizo or something like that).

Thanks Sycamore Tree,

It looks like we are both going to have May weddings in Tulum. I am looking at either May 2nd or May 6th, 2011. I hope it is a good time for a wedding!!

Talk soon! Keep me posted on your progress. I would love to hear about it.

PS I am originally from the Boston area my self!!

We didn't do a fancy cake, but the chef at Milamores made one for desert that was so light and creamy. It was a wonderful desert but I have no idea how it looked before they cut it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
