Need Honeymoon Ideas

Recommended Posts

Ok Ladies, my FI and I are trying to figure out where we want to go in Cabos for our honeymoon to get off of the Dreams resort since some of our guests are lingering there. We want to stay in the Los Cabos area so that we can really take it in once the wedding's wrapped up.

Ideally we'd be at a beach resort with easy access to downtown Cabos San Lucas. This is probably pretty broad but that's how broad our search is and it is a pinch overwhelming, especially since resorts are booking so fast and we'd hate to make a haste decision and book quickly w/out really getting feedback on this decision.

What'd the rest of the Cabos Brides do for their honeymoon?

Hmm... very good and logical question. Well, it's going to be from Tuesday - Saturday (after all's said and done and we see most of our guests off) so that's 4 nights/5 days (ish). I'm thinking about $1200. We're trying to make our $ stretch here as best we can w/out really limiting our honeymoon too much. Do you think that's reasonable in hoping w/that budget?

I would like a romantic setting w/access to get a night or two of real Cabos nightlife in if we feel like it. So much research to do....

Have you priced villas or other rentals? I'm not familiar with Cabo but I know in other parts of Mexico sometimes a rental with a maid and cook is the same or less costly than some resorts? That would be the ultimate in seclusion and luxury for sure!

Melia San Lucas is a beautiful resort, a little $$ though. Have you thought about Villa Del Palmer or Villa Del Arco? (VDA is new, so the rooms are nicer)

I know a guy how owns a timeshare in Villa Del Palmer, were staying there while were in cabo, we got a weeks stay (has to be booked for Friday or Saturday and stay a week) one bedroom, two bath for around 900.00. You also have the option to do AI for an added price. Let me know if you want his contact information and I can forward it to you. Christa stayed at VDP as well and said it was nice.

Thanks for all the suggestions. We looked into the ones you guys threw out as well as combing this forum thread on Cabo Accomodations and we're now waiting to see if we can get booked at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica. It looks stunning yet simple and peaceful and that's what we were really looking forward to, a quiet honeymoon with access to town when we feel like getting around other people or for an evening of dancing and partying but mostly a good romantic vibe. <<crossing fingers>>hug2.gif

I would definitely look into renting a condo or something else where it's someone's private property. We did this and were able to stay in a condo at Casa del Mar for $250/night. The hotel rates are more than $400! And we had a FULL APARTMENT - kitchen, living room, ocean view, the works. And maid service. Now, we couldn't order room service, but that wasn't a big deal for us. I just think you can stretch your dollar much farther. Check ..VRBO® is Vacation Rentals by Owner® Vacation Homes Rentals by Owner or probably a zillion other sites...Unfortunately I don't know much about downtown Cabo sorry

I was going to suggest the One & Only or Las Ventanas until I re-read your post. LOL. So I would also say the ME (although I hear it is pretty loud and there are a lot of partiers so you may not like it for a honeymoon) or the Marquis. Although now that I think of it, I think the Marquis is pricey too. Pueblo Bonita sounds very romantic and nice. I would go with that or look into some of the options that Janet suggested.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
