Mother of the Bride dresses??

Recommended Posts

Hi all!

My mom and I have been looking all over our city and can't seem to find any dresses for her. I'm just wondering what your mothers are wearing seeing as it's gonna be a hot day. Are they wearing formal, long dresses? Or something a little shorter and floaty? My dad isn't wearing a suit or tux or I guess something super formal would be out of the question as they won't really match. Any input would be great! Thanks again!!!

So funny, I was just talking about this with FMIL and my mom. They are both planning on weargin knee length or tea length dresses. Nothing too fancy. My mom was eyeing a cotton dress at J Crew. FMIL is going to look for a Hawaiin dress when she is in Maui next month. SO they will be beachy casual. no beads, no sequins, nothing formal.

I was worried about pictures. My mom sort of liked this flowery dress but I thought that the pattern was too much considering the beautiful background of the ocean/beach/palm trees. I was thinking of something more plain looking. What do you guys think?

FMIL is wearing this dress, but in horizon blue: David's Bridal - Short sleeveless jersey dress with center front ruching and charmeuse bands.

And my mom is wearing this in David's Bridal - Printed crinkle chiffon A-line with Y-neck and back cascade.

We wanted something comfy and flowy so they good breath and enjoy the night. But Joes' mom is a small little lady (size 4 and 5') and my mom is 5'6" and a size 14 so we wanted something complimenting of their bodies

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
