taking care of your hair

Recommended Posts

Glad to see this thread come back to life!

I love the Redken line and ESPECIALLY the anti-snap.

Trying to get my hair to grow, grow, grow. I've got til April. I take care of it, use good products and get the ends trimmed (my HD is also a Redken specialist ... love her) ... but I need new tips/tricks for hair growth/thickening.

any advice would be appreciated :)
probably only a 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch every 5-6 weeks you could go up to 8 if you are growing it out just use really good products so the hair can stay strong and moisturized... sorry your hd cut to much off it will grow i promise our hair only grows between 1/4 inch to 1/2 normally every 4 weeks so be patient.... hope this helps........

Yay, I love this thread!!

Erica, I got my hair trimmed about 4 weeks ago and the ends are already drying out. sad.gif My HD told me I could come back in 8 weeks since I'm trying to grow it out, but I can't believe how bad the ends are getting already. Is there something I can do to keep the ends healthier?

Also, my hair doesn't really have that really healthy, soft feeling/look, is there something more I can be doing? It's definately healthier since I started using Redken, which i'm in love with, but it's still a bit blah. I live in a pretty dry area - there's not a ton of humidity, whether it's winter or summer, so I'm sure that's adding to it - but I'm just ready to have NICE hair!!

THANKS CESSY! I will take your advice and prob wait until 8 weeks to get another trim. Also i usually use Biolage shampoo and conditioner and now that it's almost gone I'm due for a new brand I think. I wasn't over all impressed with Biolage. I'm thinking Aveda? Is redken better than Aveda? Also which type would you recomend for thin but lots of it curly/ wavy hair?

Hey Miss Cessy! What is the best shampoo and conditioner for not so natural blondes..blush2.gif I get foils every 2 months but my color always seems to fade. I love the way it looks right after my coloring, but can't seem to maintain it well. I use the violet shampoos every once in a while, but let me tell you.....after accidentally leaving it on too long a few times...purple hair is definately a good color for me! smile43.gif

Is there a good brand that I can pretty much find anywhere? Any drugstore brands that are decent? I use that John Freida sheer blonde conditioner alot since I seem to go through my conditioner twice as fast as my shampoo.......Thanks lady!

Hey Erica,

I need more help!! My hair is SO dry. I use a Chi "Iron Guard", which my hd says hydrates my hair, but omg - my hair is so dry and has so much static! How can I get rid of that? My hair totally lacks body too (sad.gif), so can I get rid of static and add a little life?

I'm so not a professional, but have you tried silk therapy by biosilk? It's a leave in serum that works wonders for me!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
