taking care of your hair

Recommended Posts

hi girls i thought this might be helpful... our hair is so important to us it also needs us to treat it well.....

if you color your hair.....

use a color protector shampoo (the ones in your salon)not cvs......

also a 5 min treatment or mask once a week

also a leave in treatment everyday ( or everytime you wash your hair)

if you have very fine hair your hair lacks protein so just like protein for our body makes us strong so does protein for our hair thats why fine hair is always breaking or spliting and just limp...

if you have very dry or curly hair it needs moisture thats why we have frizzyness and the seems to get bigger as the day goes on...if you do treaments once a week it helps this problem....

it is so important to take care of your hair always but for the wedding your hair will be easier on the stylist your hair will not look pretty if its not taken care of...

also if you go tanning cover your hair it will lighten up and dry out....just like the sun......

if you have any questions i would love to help... let me know.... erica

Hi Cessy, good point. The thing is, I know when I go into the salon I don't exactly trust that the hair dresser is trying to just up her sales or if I really need that particular hair product (the products just pile up for me, it's an addiction at times). That being said, I have very fine hair and it gets oily so I have to wash it daily but also color treat it (premature grey is fun!) with Herbal Essence because it's semi-permanent and supposedly less harming/drying to my hair.

That being said, you said fine hair needs protein to strengthen it. Any good suggestions for a good shampoo/conditioner/mask treatment for my hair type or did I just throw too much at you? smile43.gif

what happens with color over the counter is you are overlaying your hair your ends do not need color evrytime evry other time due to fading....

i am a redken girl that is not to say other products are bad i just work with redken for 11 years...

use redken extreme shampoo line perfect for fine hair with oily it does not weight the hair down and it is protein

also my favorite leave in is antisnap you will love it take it to the beach if you like to go in the water put it in your hair when you get out......

also evryday before you blowdry

extreme CAT treatment it seals your cuticle (which means )it makes your hair stronger and also holds your color better when the hair is treated it makes you color shiny and keeps the color locked in...(once a week) for 5 min then rinse and then a little conditioner on ends... never put conddtioner right on the scalp it can make your hair greesy......

Thanks for the tips! I've been trying to grow my hair out and I think it's not going as well because I've been lazy. But I'm going to go out and get some Redken stuff! If my hair has a chance look like yours I'm all over the Redken products!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
