January 2010 brides - plans and sharing!

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I don't want to get in trouble for this, but I would really like to keep this thread (if it's ok), I liked cherylMC's idea, because although the date's thread is already up, it doesn't allow us to chat and share plans, plan get togethers etc.

SO, if it's ok can we keep this thread? But make it not just a "what day are you getting married" thread..

Sorry again if this is wrong.. i just thought it would be a good thread (for me personally.. and obviously cheryl too, but probably some others as well).

Thanks! :)

I totally don't! (thanks though wink.gif)

SO, we have a quote leaving Jan 16th (16th-23) that is 1780. THE THING IS, we can't get a date during that time! (it would have to be the 20th or 21st, since we have to be there two full business days before the wedding and the 16th is a saturday. SO I requested the 23rd as a date (at noon, as it's all that is left), and asked my TA to get dates for the 18th-25th, and she did, but they're $1820.. which isn't THAT much of a jump, except that we felt like $1780 was a ton to ask people to pay to come in the first place, and now we're REALLY uncomfortable.. I'm not sure what to do. I emailed the wedding co-ordinator (who wasn't chandlyn like people have been saying.. it was somebody else.. maybe someone new? or someone who just answers the emails?), about getting a date on the 20th or 21st, but everything is booked up. So I don't know.. we like the ROR, but it's so much money (for our guests.. and us.. because we're fresh out of school (technically, im still in school until april)... If there are any Jan brides who have requested a date but have changed their minds can you please let me know and I'll re-request? (I know it's a long shot!).

I love this forum - it is SO good to be able to talk to people who understand things because they have been there/will be there/are planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
