How did you decide on your dress?

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies I am having a hard time finding a dress. I think I found one but am not sure. My MOH says I am putting to much pressure on myself and that is why I can't decide. I have tried on so many. I liked most, you know some more than others. But none has scream "I am the one", and I was kinda hoping for that to happen. Am I expecting to much? Should I keep looking or go with the last one which is beautiful, but..... if you would like a look and a comment please follow this link

That dress is beautiful! I honestly can't really help as I have yet to go through all this. I haven't even tried on any dresses yet but I feel like when I get to that point, I might be just like you. I am so indecisive! Good luck on making your final decision!

I think that the dress you choose should fit amazingly. We all have ideas of what we would like from looking at magazines, etc., but it isn't always practical with 'real' bodies. My advice is to get a dress that fits you like a glove and feels like home when you are in it. If the AA one does--then that is great. If not, keep looking--deal or no deal. You'll regret choosing the wrong one just to save money.

That is a gorgeous dress... but I know what you mean about being unsure. I thought I would never find a dress because I couldn't find one that had a top and bottom that I liked, it was always one or the other. Until I stumbled onto a store that had 3 possibilities and then it was just a matter of how the one I chose fit. I knew I would be comfortable and feel amazing all day in it and that just made it right. I got all teary and my mom and girlfriends had big smiles. If you are looking for the "feeling" then maybe keep looking? But like I started with, the one you've posted is an incredible dress! Good luck!

The most important thing I wanted in a dress was something that would be light and not too much material. I really wanted a dress with an open back as well.

We got married in April in Mexico and it is hot, hot, hot that time of year. After trying on 4 DW dresses, I found the perfect one. It was slim fitting, light, and in my budget, $425 after tax. I found it at the 2nd Bridal store I went to. I was sooo happy to find something so quick and that I liked so much.

Just remember to find something comfortable. You will be in the dress for much of the day and want to also feel relaxed and comfortable on your special day.

Good luck!

When I went dress shopping I tried on several dresses I really liked and thought...well maybe this would work. But when I tried on my dress, I didn't want to take off and knew I had to get it. It wasn't a dress I ever imagined myself wearing but when I put it on I just loved everything about it. I think the dress that you are considering is very pretty and getting a good deal on it is always a plus!

That dress looks beautiful, especially for a DW. I can see how you might feel pressured since you'll have to order your dress soon. If you have the time & patience it never hurts to keep looking. Just give yourself a deadline and if you don't find something you love more then maybe you'll be more confident in choosing this one? Best of luck.

I absolutely agree with that.. the dress should fit and flatter you like no other dress and you should feel completely great in it.
I just posted this comment for another girl too on here - I never had that lightning strikes, tears flowing moment with my dress. I love my dress and know its perfect for me in every way; that's how I knew it was 'the one'.

Good Luck!!

I haven't had that moment either, there is one dress that I tried on and I really liked it. I didn't get really excited or cry or anything but everytime I've try on a dress after that I keep compairing them to it. I keep telling myself I'm going to keep looking but I really think my decision has already been made.

My advice would be to go at least one more time and try on different dresses and then go back to the dress and see how you feel about it. Try on lots of different shapes and fits, you might get "that feeling" or you might not but in the end just pick the one that you can't seem to get out of your head. It may not be that "ah ha" moment but one of them will stick out to you.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
