The RIU Palace Macao offers "free weddings" if your group is big enough (10 people with 5 rooms). I had the free wedding at the RIU Bachata in Puerto Plata & everything was fantastic! I didn't need extra decorations, or a bigger cake, or anything!! What they provided for our group of 25was GREAT! Oh...and with the free wedding you only have to pay for the judges fees ($560 US).

Good Luck!!! Picking a location is the hardest part...once that is done it's smooth sailing! :)

We chose Paradisus Palma Real - I think it's probably a bit too pricey - It's very beautiful though.. I think Paradisus Punta Cana is supposed to be very beautiful as well and somewhere in the 2000 price range? Good Luck with your decision :)

When we stayed at the Bahia Principe Punta Cana - we just booked online through Orbitz. Got a good rate, I think it was around $200/room/night for double occupancy. That area is just beautiful and there are a lot of really nice resorts. Tripadvisor was the best resource for us because there are a lot of candid photos to get a "real" idea of what the place looks like. Although.. we always take the reviews with a grain of salt because seems some people cannot be happy anywhere.. Best luck in choosing.. once you select a place, the rest just falls into place. Happy planning!!!

We are getting married at the Melia Caribe. The main reason we chose it is because we were there in 06 for vacation and loved it. The best food, best beach and most beautiful resort we had ever been to. We looked into other resorts - there are so many that are amazing - but decided not to take a chance, and just go with the one we knew we loved.

I would suggest going through the planning threads...I found the places I loved and then read the planning threads from the brides that had been there. All these places are beautiful. Each person has different things that are "absolutes" and "negotiables." Just know what those are and then dive in to the information. :)

BTW- I decided to go with Paradisus Palma Real. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
