Gran Bahia Principe

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I am planning on getting married April 2010 at the Gran Bahia Principe Resort I am finding everyone's info a great help so far. I just started planning 2 days ago and things are moving fast at least as far as the flights go and am waiting response from the coordinator regarding a lot of questions I have. My travel agent is the middle person and it is awesome as she has done this a lot so I go through her and so far I recommend going that way if possible.

Hi we are thinking of going to that resort in May 2010....I don't know if it's just me, but prices seem really high right now....do you think it would be better to wait for things to settle down with the swine flu, or do you think it's smarter to hurry up and book now before it's too late?? Ahhhh so confused lol

My TA told me that prices have not come out for that time next year and won't come out until mid summer most likely. The further in advance you book, the more expensive it is. Which is unfortunate because of course we're going to want to book asap. I want to book my wedding photographer but I can't do that until the hotel and date are confirmed. I'm trying to get group rates which can apparently be locked in at this time. I'd need 10 people but i'm having a small wedding and will only have 10-15 people who don't have a clue what they're going to do in regards to where they are staying. So as of right now, no one will commit to being part of the group rate so as of right now, I can't book anything. It's very frustrating. So what i'm trying to do, is reserve the wedding day I want before booking the package as I may have to wait until prices do come out. I'm waiting to hear back on if I can have the date.

Hi,

I am also getting married at the Gran Bahia Prinicipe in April 2010. I am waiting for confirmation on my wedding date. My travel agent and I have been corresponding with the wedding coordinators for a couple of months trying to get the date confirmed and it should hopefully be done very soon. I am also from Nova Scotia...what date are you hoping to get married, maybe we will be there at the same time :)

Hi,

My dates are April 18th to 25th. We have 10 people booked with deposits and the price we are quoted is 1695.00 each (from Halifax) for a junior suite in the Diamond section. Some people thought that was high but 2 other couples I know are also getting married there the week before and are paying 1719.00 so that must be the going rate. I know the weddings are great there and if you don't book now you might not get the time and location you want for the wedding (so I was told by 2 other couples who got married there 2 and 3 years ago).

For those of you in Vancouver, my TA is still waiting for prices for my friends and relatives who are traveling from Edmonton, hopefully by Monday or Tuesday.

I am getting married there January 9, 2010 and flights are terribly expensive! Paying close to $1800....but we are flying through air canada vacations. Prices however should drop in a few months....

The wedding coordinator is no longer Gildania, she left! The contact person is Claribel, you can use the same email address

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
