Oooh ladies....I need to drop some weight.....fast. Went in to try on my dress the other day and they're threatening to have to take it out. I've put on a BUNCH of weight at my old job, and my diet isn't working at all...I've gained weight on it. Any advice??

seems like weight loss is always a good topic, so....

what do you ladies do to lose weight? do you follow certain programs? exercise? secret tricks? maybe we'll be able to help each other out.

for me, I am currently a WW member trying to lose weight. A few months ago (march), I joined a gym and was going 4-5 times a week. that didn't last too long before I got annoyed and I haven't been for a little while. I certainly have to get back into it seeing as the wedding is 5 and 1/2 months away now. Also, I wanted to mention that about 6 years ago, I had joined WW for the first time and I had lost 75lbs. Unfortunately, I've gained it back because I'm a dumb-ass! lol Hence the reason that I have rejoined.

We found this diet in a magazine (its a book) And I love it, we always do it before a vacation to loose a few extra pounds or during the spring to loose the winter weight. the first time I did it I lost 16 lb and kept all of it off except like 3/4 lbs and that was when I was in college drinking and eating horrible! I did it 2 more times and I lost 5 lbs each time but the first time I got sick so I didn't stick to it entirely and the second time I was surprised with a trip to Jamaica (where I got engaged) and it cut it short! The other good thing about this diet is it only is 11 days and its in stages so it doesn't seem that bad and now we still kinda eat like we are on the diet. Also there is one day of no eating but the juice you make somehow really satisfies any hunger you might have - and believe me I eat all the time! I was really worried but it worked great! But it really motivates you to keep losing or maintain your lower weight! Good luck and your dress is beautiful!!

Here is the link to the book for the diet:

Hey LisaLoo! The same thing happened to me. I went on WW and lost 80 lbs and have gained it back.

During that time, I strictly watched what I ate, worked out twice a day, and was laid off so I had plenty of time to work out! I was kinda fanatical about it since I was so sad about being unemployed. Now that I am happy I am back to being fat again. LOL I guess there really isn't a secret to it. Michael Pollan says, "Eat less... mostly plants... and exercise more."

One recipe that helped me lots a pumpkin spice cake, that is about 1 point for 1/9th of a 9x13 pan with non-fat cool whip on top! It helped curb that sweet tooth.

Pumpkin Spice Cake:

1 box Spice Cake mix

1 can of pumpkin

1/4 cup of water

Bake as instructed on the Spice Cake Box, and top each slice with non-fat cool whip. You can also use Chocolate cake instead of spice cake. It's really good!

I SOOOOOOOOOOOO love pumpkin and so making the recipe. A few questions though, what size of can was the pumpkin and was it pure pumpkin or pumpkin pie filling?

Lisa - my mom lost 60 lbs on WW a few years back and then regained it afterward. I think it's too hard to follow ww once you've reached your goal maybe? I dunno, I've never done it personally. I generally aim to go to the gym 5 times a week and I follow the Cheat Your Way Thin diet by Joel Marion. :) I've lost close to 7 lbs in the last 5 weeks which is pretty amazing for me considering it took me almost a year to lose 20 lbs last year when I was doing something different.

I really don't think WW is that hard. I guess for me, I love to eat crap food and that doesn't go well with WW and losing weight! I don't know why I have it in my head that junk food tastes great, because fruit tastes great too. AHHHH!!!!! lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
