sunshine - awww sorry to hear your FI was laid off, that sucks. hug2.gif I hope everything starts to look up again and he finds another job quick.

Ladies, I am stressed out right now! I'm going dress shopping this weekend with my mom for a cute dress to wear for my friend's wedding next saturday. I am dreading this because of my short torseau and curvier/athletic build that everything is going to look awful on me and I'll just get pissed off/sad and give up. Where the hell can I go in this damn city to get a cute dress? I don't even know where to begin!!! sad.gif

Thanks for the advice ladies- I think I am going to go with my first instinct and wear a bra.

Sunshine - I hope everything works out, my FI's dad got laid off and his mom is using it as an excuse to have us postpone the wedding (not happening). My FI and I have a little thing were we sing that Bob Marley song 3 little birds, the part with "everything thing is gunna be alright" - it started when we got engaged - we knew there would be troubles ahead but it has made us laugh in some bad/sad/frustrating times! You too will be fine and at least you will have each other!

Kathy- I have a short torso too! I always suspected it but after dress shopping it was embarrassing how bad it was (the "boobs" of every dress especially the halters were way above mine!) I would just think of what shape looks good on you and stick to that - it always seems to help me! Good luck!

Aww girl, I know how you feel. Weddings can make someone so emotional sometimes. I know I've had my fair share of crying! lol You'll look beautiful on your wedding day.

About the dress/bra thing. I would wear a strapless bra, or even get one sewn in to your dress. I have heard that the 'cups' they sew in don't hold the girls up!
Thanks for the link and the info, that's great! I didn't even know they sewed in cups, I guess I just figured there was enough material there! lol

Don't stress Kathy, you're such a beautiful lady! :) I would suggest to start looking in your favorite store, I'm sure you're bound to find something there. If not, head to the mall, keep your chin up, think positive and I just know you'll find something that'll be great! Don't stress too much, it's not worth it girl! smile03.gif

I'm so sorry to hear about your FI girl! Things like that are never easy to go through. But I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason. It'll work out in the end, not to worry! :)

What a bummer, Sunshine! I know how you feel.

Two days after we got engaged, my FI got laid off from work (I actually think he was to be laid off that day, but his boss just couldn't do it to him. lol). John decided we should go through with the wedding even though I suggested that we postpone it (I was freaking out). A year later, he still hasn't found employment. This economy sucks! Luckily, he is the type that saves for a rainy day and has no debt (unlike me! lol), plus Unemployment extensions have helped, so I took his word for it that everything will be okay. I've watched every penny for this wedding!! I guess it will depend on your financial situation. Moving in with you will definately help cut expenses. Also, start a budget and stick to it if you don't postpone the DW. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
