you mean CHUB RUB, lol!!! i just posted about this is the "things you wish you would have packed" thread. the best thing i've found for healing it once you've got it is desitin (diaper rash cream). i didn't have any with me, and stupidly went for a long walk into town wearing a dress. OUCH. i could hardly walk. i don't know why i didn't make people wait for me to go change into capris! i had to use a combo of triple antibiotic ointment and baby powder to heal it before the wedding!

i think someone here posted about a product something like bike shorts but made out of pantyhose-type material? that might be good. definitely will be kinda hot for the spanx. but i didn't get the chub rub rash except from the long walk--if you're walking a lot, wear shorts or capris! other than that, you'll be fine. just use a little baby powder in the thigh area, or i've even heard of people using their underarm antiperspirant there. couldn't hurt!

I think mummergirl said something about A and D ointment or something... but, I would wear a short legging or something if you are doing a lot of walking. Skinny girls don't worry about the chub rub-not fair!!! I would def get a pair of spandek shorts or legging capris... just to stop the chub rub.

PS, Lisaloo, you could totally wear spanx! They make them in all sizes... They go up to a size G and the top of the height weight chart is 6ft 325 pounds...(not that I am holding the package in my hands or anything lol. They are so much more comfortable that a bustier or any of that stuff. and, they are crotchless, so on wedding day, or whenever, you can just go peepee!!!

Okay, now for a REALLY funny story, that I CANNOT believe I am telling on here, but I figure it's for a good laugh. I go to the first fitting for my dress. I met up with my MOH and mom, and I had my hair all done and makeup for effect. So all day my stomach had been killlling me, but I didnt want to cancel the appt., had it booked for way too long. So, I got changed in to my strapless bra, spanx, and gown... come out, and I look at MOH with sweat coming down my face... I had to go!!! So we were running to the bathroom, and she had to sit with me, holding up my gown, literally face to face while I did my business... we were laughing soooo hard that we were practically crying.... and the whole time she was like "Only you Joanna, only you would have to do this as soon as you get in to the dress"..... well, now I know not to be worried about any similar situations on wedding day!!! LMFAO!

I also LOVE spanx! I couldn't live without them. I don't wear them every day, but I do wear them whenever I wear a dress. I have the high waisted ones so you don't get the 'overhang' at the waistline. Oprah wears them all the time too! They really hide trouble spots in dresses, but the other reason I love them so much is they prevent the painful rash I get when my thighs rub together when wearing a dress.

On the topic of that awful thigh rash - I don't know what I'll do in Cuba for the wedding. I want to wear cute sundresses and coverups during the day, but it will be way too hot for spanx! Any ideas on how to prevent the 'thigh friction irritation'?

lol..for the "chub rub" issue...I know there are a few products that are basically liquid baby powder. I see them all the time during the summer months here in my local Wally World. I can't remember off the top of my head who the big manufacturer is, but I'll look around online..anyway, I was thinking that would be EXCELLENT for that lovely thigh friction. Something you can smooth on a nice, thin velvety layer and stick in your purse in case you need to reapply later.

Joanna - that is TOO funny! I'm laughing my ass off here. I completely understand because with my luck, the same thing would happen to me, that's just how I am!

Ok, ok, I'm going to try the Spanx! Not for the wedding though, too hot. But I do have 3 events to go to in the next month which requires dresses, so I think I'll check it out.

Thanks again everyone for all the great ideas! It's really nice to come to a place where people understand the things we curvier gals go through!

Thanks for all the tips!! I will look for some of that liquid baby /talc powder, and I might get a pair of bike shorts to wear under a sundress if I will be doing a lot of walking. I guess for the walks down the beach I'll just slip into a pair of shorts and that should do it!!! Ahhhh the troubles we have to deal with!! ....actually I have heard that runners get it too, even though they have skinny legs!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
