Jackobelle - It's such a cute suit, I really love it alot actually! It looks nice on and mostly hides all the yucky parts (I have lots of them! lol)

Well ladies, you know that I am having my dress made by my aunt. As it's not finished yet, I can't post a pic, but I did just create a thread about my dress in progress. So to see pics, check them out here: Enjoy!

So I have something else that I've been thinking about lately. Here's my problem. We are going to Jamaica for 2 weeks (that's not the problem lol) and I'm having a hard time figuring out what to bring. As you know, plus-size clothes is bigger than regular clothes therefore not as much will fit in the suitcase. Any ideas on how to take advantage of bringing the most clothes? I'm trying to find clothes in lighter material, so it won't add to the weight. I have a couple of skorts, but seeing as they are double the material, they weight alot more. Thoughts anyone??

LisaLoo, I say that all the time when I pack. It may seem that I'm overpacking but my clothes just take up more room!! LOL When ever I go to the tropical areas, I find that I wear mostly light jersey cotton dresses. The pack very well, and I always feel beachy chic. Plus, I love Jersey flowy capris like these:

Women's & Men's Clothes: Plus Size, Maternity, Baby & Kid's Clothing | Old Navy

I leave the jeans and jean shorts at home as they take up alot of room and are too heavy for the weather anyway.

Rolling your clothes tightly or using those new packing cubes and folders from Eagle Creek seems to improve my packing space. When I went to Europe last year, they really helped me be able to bring everything I wanted to.

Packing Cubes: Eagle Creek Cubes

I buy them when they go into the clearance bins at REI.

lisa, i only went to cancun for a week, but i personally brought WAY too many clothes. i basically found myself living in bathing suits/coverups and sundresses. sundresses are super light for packing! and da.schmoopies, i love those jersey-knit gauchos too ... so comfy!

i also had some "space bags" which are supposed to get all the air out of your clothes and make them take up half the space. not sure how much i think they helped, but they were ideal for taking home the dirty or wet clothes.

i had packed a ton of capris and tops and most of it came home unworn. i also packed several lingerie items and only bothered wearing it on our wedding night (despite the fact that we skipped the wedding-nite-nookie, lol) ... i just felt like i *should* be wearing it, KWIM? waste of luggage space!

FYI, if you get the "space bags" make sure you get the ones that you have to roll to get the air out. The ones that use a vacuum to compact them are neat, but if you end up going through customs during international travel and they decide to search your luggage... kaboom!! And then you have to try to pack it back in!

JoLo, I haven't tried spanxs yet. Is there a problem with them rolling up/down or anything like that?

Spanx are my best friend... aside from MOH and FI .... hahha... I love them because they hold everything in (my tummy is a littly flabby, I miss my flat tummy), and smooth everything out. and they are crotchless so esp. in a wedding dress, easy bathroom access. they make the high waisted power panties which I LOVE and am wearing under my dress. They are a little pricey, but they work really well. I don't think they are really uncomfortable either at all.... so, SPANX!!! PS, my mom went to sit in the audience of the VIEW last year and Tyra Banks was on, and my mom was like "Tyra was wearing Spanx too like me! She showed them during commercial!!" My mom is smaller, but they still help smooth it all out...

Mine haven't rolled up or down, they seem to fit securely on the legs and all... Also HIGH WAISTED power panty is best...for dresses, esp. wedding... they look like shorts, but the waist goes up to your bra strap and bubbies. So there is no cut off or rolling in the middle of your waist. Please ladies, if you have not yet, get SPANX!!! There are clothes that I could NEVER wear normally because of my curves or my lil belly pooch, but I don't have one at all in my Spanx!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
