That happened to me with my hibiscus on my foot. When the scabbing came off, the color came off my skin too, it was really weird. I had to wait until it was completely healed before getting it touched up. It hurts the second time - just a warning!

Ive been putting it off for that reason. I just know its going to hurt! LOL

It must be only the foot that heals like that...it was weird. I was like this is just peeling off! I never experienced that before.

I wish I could find the inspiration pic that I used for my tattoo. I have a "tramp stamp" so will have to try to get a pic of it. I love it, but won't be getting anymore...

Jaime - I love the wedding band tattoo idea - but OUCH, I can only imagine it would be brutal!

We were going to do this. We got tattoos for our anniversary. And wanted bands. After talking to a few tattoo artists we decided against it. B/c it such a small space they said that it starts to blur as you age and becomes unreadable or "smeary". I don't know if this is always true but we didn't want to risk it so instead did the coordinates on our back. The other reason is b/c my dh works with his hands didn't want the tattoo so visible and have to explain it all day. I still think it would be cool if it didn't disform over time. Let me know if you do it I'd love to see it.

okay, i have waited long enough to post this! i have LOVED seeing everyone's pictures so far!

i'll go in chronological order so you can see the ridiculous progression i've gone through..

this is my first tattoo i got done when i was 17. i copied it from the lucky brand logo and i'd say it's probably the size of a nickel on my lower back. it looks faded, but it's actually still in great shape, my camera just didn't want to take a good picture of it!

next came the infinity symbol. i LOVE this symbol (i wear my tiffany infinity necklace every day proudly!) and what it represents and since i'm a runner i figured my foot was an appropriate place for it! it took a whopping 10 minutes and hasn't faded at all even though i was told that socks are like erasers for foot tattoos.

my next tattoo is actually my avatar.. my cupcake and crossbones. FI designed it and his friend put it on my left hip. FI actually drew it on a napkin when we were out at dinner. i was wearing a johnny cupcakes shirt (Johnny Cupcakes - Johnny Cupcakes) and he was inspired!

getting a little bigger, this is my celtic knot! i found the design i wanted and it ended up being my first (and only so far) tattoo from him! i think it pained him to do something other than his normal japanese style, but i begged, so he gave in!

my most recent tattoo is big one! it was my birthday present this year and done by the artist that does most of FI's. it was done to match his sleeve so we could have coordinating tattoos, but not match exactly. outline took 3 hours, color took 8 and i thought it was going to die. thanks to a 2 liter of coke and a few clif bars i managed to make it through and i LOVE it! the only thing that stinks... having to find BD pic outfits that go with it!!!

We're planning on having ring tattoo's done once we arrive back at home. FI works as an electrician, so he won't be wearing his ring all day which drives me crazy, but I never told him this. It was actualy HIS idea though, despite what people will probably think. We girls get the bad wrap on everything.

I'll post later, but he has a tribal on his arm, a skull/grim reaper type design on his shoulder, and strenght and courage chinese symbols(you can prob. see on our profile pic)on his neck. I have a large tribal design on my lower back that I drew out while in college. I'm getting one on my footthat I designed and one on my ankle (our monogram)in a few weeks, so it can heal before the wedding.

I heard the same thing too, that a lot of artists don't like to do ring tats. cause they fade quick and need to be touched up frequently. We will probably think of our own design; simple and black. We are actually searching for ideas right now. I have an artist friend that says he will do it, no problems. We will just have to keep up on the retouches I guess.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
