Signature Cocktails/Drinks

Recommended Posts

As promised here are some drink ideas we will be having at our wedding. Other than the usual open bar items (Jack and Coke is FI's fav, the Long Island Ice Teas, Beer, Cosmos, etc.) and non-aclhy beverages like lemonade, ice tea, and water, our WC suggested the following speciality drinks (still thinking of cute names to go with em) cheesy.gif

1) I'm not a huge fan of champagne, so to give it a twist we are having what they call a "Peach Champagne Sangria" -- supposed to be champagne but with a tropical twist and she says it's delish!!

2) Tropical Fruit Punch - with some alchy, don't know exactly what but she said it's yummy wink.gif

3) Margaritas - mango, lime and strawberry all on the rocks!

4) Mojitos - With Amy's idea they will now be "Mint-to-Be" Mojitos

5) Their speciality is called an "Akumal Cooler" - has rum, vodka, triple sec, mango and pineapple juice

6) Something they call a "Horni Tini" (definitely gonna change the name, lol) - hornitos tequila, cranberry juice, lime juice and triple sec

As for names, I got the following outta a wedding book ~ MOST admittedly are beyond corny blush2.gif But these might give you some ideas on how to play around with words:

- Altar-ed State

- Blushing Bride

- Be My Cider

- Cloud-Nine Cocktail

- Diamond-Ring Sling

- Electric-Slide Special

- Eternitini

- First-Kiss Fizz

- Groom's Gimlet wtf.gif

- Honeymoon Helper

- "I Do" Daiquiri

- Maidarita

- Rosy Future

- Tie-the-Knot Shot

- Tuxedo-politan

- True Blue

- Veila Ale

- Wedding Bell-ini

Something I saw really cute that another bride did on here recently was have four drinks under the titles Something Old (and old favorite like a margarita), Something New (some creative mix), Something Borrowed (another bride's drink idea), Something Blue (a blue drink of course) ~ I LOVE that!!! idea.gif

No Problem!!! I'm like Savannah I'm so cocktail ignorant. I used to look online for drinks, but I always want to know what they look like and none of them really narrow down results for me so i buy TONS of cocktail books at TJ Maxx (they have lots w/ apic of every drink and they're only $3-$7) and Joe and I pull them out all the time and try new stuff!

I tried to find a bunch that were orange, but its actually really hard!

I know! Orange drinks are super hard to find, that's why I am SO thankful that you posted those! You don't even know - I showed my FI right away and we're both excited now!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
