Hi everyone, my name is MaryKate and I am from Philadelphia, PA. My fiance Den and I have been dating for 8 years and he proposed to me on my 25th birthday in a hot-air ballon ride on August 1, 2008. (Very romantic =)

 

 

We are planning a destination wedding for 10-10-2010. We first had our hearts set on getting married at Sandals in the Bahamas but have changed our minds b/c it's a "couples only" resort. (I have a huge family that would like to bunk together and Sandals does not approve of that) So, we are now looking for an all-inclusive "adults only" resort. We have been searching online and really seem to like Secrets but we are still keeping our options open.

 

This whole process is a little overwhelming and hope I can turn to the forum for some guidance and advice. I am very happy to join and can't wait to chat with some of you. =)

Hi MaryKate! Congratulations on your engagement...how romantic! I'm from Philadelphia as well! My fiance and I are getting married 5/27/10 in Bermuda. We've decided to take a seven day cruise from NY so that we can celebrate all week long with our family members and friends. Are you looking to get married in the Bahamas or are you looking at other carribean islands as well?

A seven day cruise sounds amazing. What cruise line are you taking?

Two years ago, we went to the Sandals in the Bahamas and fell in LOVE with it....but they do not offer certain amenities that we would need. We both love the beach and the tropical climate, anywhere in the Caribbean could be a possibility =)

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

      Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
