July Bride-to-be... somewhere!

Hi I'm Linette, bride-to-be on July 11th... somewhere. :)

We're currently booked at Moon Palace in Cancun/Riviera Maya. Our family and friends were all due to book their trip this week when news broke out over the swine flu and all that motivation came to a screeching halt.

Though I personally believe this will be well under control come July, we have many children and elderly guests in our immediate family who may not attend if we keep the wedding in Mexico.

Since no one has officially booked yet, I'm looking at other alternatives. Our wedding is about 9 weeks away and its almost like starting from scratch. I'm trying not to stress too much about it and just finding a solution. So, I'll keep you posted as to any changes... whether we keep it close to home, or, venture off to another destination.

I also wanted to mention that I've been a silent participant on the forum and finally decided to jump in this week. I'd like to thank you all for sharing stories, offering support and solutions! Many have insipired me in my planning. I hope to return the favor :).

Hey Linette,

Welcome to the forum. I'm also a Mexican July bride. Personally, I'm just waiting out this flu situation. IMO there's a very good chance this will all settle down by then and the only worry then will be how to keep from sweating to death in that wedding dress on the beautiful beach :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
