We've been really bad about getting insurance for my ring... (especially since it's a little big... I know BAD, but I'm dropping it off tonight to get it resized) but now that we're looking into it we're a little unsure of where do go. Does it fall under Joe's homeowner insurance? Or would it go under my renters insurance? Who's ring is it technically? Joe's since he bought it? Or mine since I wear it?

I'm confused. Anyone know?

We have ours covered under our renters insurance. When you get married will you both be joining Joe's plan? I would just call your ins. companies and see what they each say about it - and if they both offer to cover it then see who will give you a better rate!

What I was told by my insurance agent is that if you have separate policies, it's whomever you want to be able to claim it! So, we just put it under my homeowner's policy. We just added our wedding bands a couple weeks ago, same story...

You can put it on your homeowner's or renter's insurance or you can get your ring its own insurance policy. Our ring policy has a much lower deductible than the home policy, and the ring is covered under almost any circumstances including plain old lost it! The only thing it won't cover is loss due to flooding but instead of reporting it lost due to flooding, you could say you went swimming and lost it. I'm sure any insurance agent will be more than happy to advise you on which policy is better.

It needs to be insured, ASAP! Murphy's law! But, with that said, my BF and I just talked with our insurance agent about the issue. They offer coverage for around $10 per $1,000. That's pretty typical. However, my sister (gemologist) said that her jewelry shop offers insurance for only $5 per $1000 and it's more comprehensive. PLUS, if you do have to file a claim, it won't affect your homeowners insurance and make your rate go up.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
