Bahia Wedding postponed to June GAH!!! at least it is still happening

Recommended Posts

Hello Fellow DW brides! OMG this has been the day from hell as I am sure it has been for so many of you. I got a call from my TA saying it was urgent so i called her and she said all flights are canceled to mexico by air transat till June 1st censored.gif so NOW WHAThuh.gifhuh.gifhuh.gifhuh.gif I called my wedding coordinator at the Bahia and she managed to change my wedding date to June 10th same place same time same restaurant, poolside reception. still waiting on Claudia Rodriguez, DJ Bob & Alexandro Zavala to see if they are still available for that day for their services but on the whole it is pretty good basically delaying it 2 weeks. Only sad thing is now FI sister, brother in law and our 3 nieces (3 flower girls) will not be able to join us for the new wedding date, i am so crushed about that but what can we do right? OMG!!!!! why is this happening right now? my WC says that it has been business as usual down inthe RM and she was shocked that i told her about the flights being canceled, i was the 1stto call her so i told her well it looks like you have a very busy day ahead of you! Thats all iwantedto say, I hope the rest of you are managing to stay sane and calm through this, just think its more time to lose weight and more time to save money LOL at least thats how I am thinking about it now. I am still upset about having to wait an extra 2WEEKS!!!! and about our family & flower girls but at least it is not costing us any more money at all what I would like to be doing right about now -----> shots.gif

That totally sucks that you will be missing some of your family and flower girls, but yes the definite upside is that it's still happening for you! Plus the extra two weeks will give you time to do other things like you said rolleyes.gif Let's all hope this swine crap dies down quickly, we brides shouldn't have to deal with anymore additional stress than usual!!!

Two weeks to wait is awful, for sure, but better late than never, right? How awful it would be if something were to happen to you and your guests...

You seem to have been fortunate that everything is falling back into place in light of the swine flu upheaval -- stay focused and keep believing the everything will be be beautiful, even if it is a little delayed! You're in the right, positive frame of mind, Corvette!

oh no sad.gif im so sad for you that its not exactly what you planned, BUT i am very glad you seem to have a great attitude about it. hang in there and try not to buy any more wedding related goodies in the extra 2 weeks you have now! try to get some early relaxation time in, you deserve it!

corvette, i believe the "rainy" season is from june to october in RM. of course i havent experienced that myself, but its what we heard when we were there a few weeks ago. as far as hurricanes, i thought those were mostly an end of summer/fall thing??

also, as far as the dj, can use use an ipod option, or just go to the disco at the hacienda that night? how many of your original guests are you still expecting, might not need the full-on DJ experience anymore.

anyways, i love your attitude, so maybe if you cant make a dj thing work out, i bet you can look at it as a money saver idea wink.gif

Honestly, I just had the resort DJ and he was great! he was the same DJ from the entertainment pool and he kept our crowd going and even danced with us. We all loved him.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
