Dress is in; not happy

Recommended Posts

So, I went for measurements in November for my wedding dress. The boutique owner then ordered from the designer, which she said would take until April. Well, 2nd weeke in May I was told the dress was in.

I went on Saturday and I was swimming in the damn thing!

I had wonderful visions of it fitting like a glove and everything being in the right spot.

It's loose on my waist which gives me NO shape and I can see right down my top.

She is going to alter it for $225! Then I go in on June 14th again. I know it will still be too big.

I'm sad.

That's actually a good thing that it's too big. Mean's your going to look hot in it once it's all altered to fit you. If it makes you feel better when my dress came in it felt like it was two sizes too big, and I was having major second thoughts about it and if I got the right dress, well after the first fitting it was MUCH better. I'm sure you'll see a BIG improvement on June 14th. Are you trying to loose weight or did they just measure you wrong?

Don't worry everything will turn out allright. Unfortunately it never fits perfectly after the first alteration. But don't worry it will be okay. Like the other girls said it is easier to take a dress in than to let it out. If anything it just means your getting skinnier which is always a plus.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
