Lack of response from FI's family

Maybe I am just paranoid, I don't know. Long story short (posted on another thread). My FI's brother (best man) got engaged 2 months after us and is getting married in June (2nd marriage for him, 1st for her). We haven't heard much from him after he announced his engagement. I told Fi to check in on him and make sure everything is ok with him coming to our wedding. He got offended and said my brother will be there, don't worry. Well, we have 19 other people booked (not him and his 2 kids). BEFORE the BM got engaged he declared financial problems with the cost of him and 2 teenagers coming to the wedding. FI offered to help and we haven't heard ANYTHING else.

Then I sent out an e-mail 4 days ago asking for shoe sizes for our favors (no response). I think it's rude when you ask someone for a response and you get NOTHING. Also, we sent out our invitations 3 weeks ago, I would think the best man would just RSVP right away. nope.

What do you guys think?

p.s.

I don't really talk to him on a regular basis since he lives in another town.

Well since email is not working how about calling them to get a more direct answer? That would be my first step and if that does not work (if they happen to notpick up and do not follow-up with a call), then its up to you to plan on them potentially not being in your wedding party OR the wedding. People tend to not respond in the timeframe we would like them to, just the nature of things, especially with weddings. But you have to protect yourinterests and you anf FI pocket first, so I would say sounds like he will not be that dependable, so plan as if he will not be there. I wish you well!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
