Avoiding spring breakers 2010

Recommended Posts

I had my heart set on getting married in March 2010, but a friend reminded me of Spring Break. In this case, not only are airfares increased but the aircrafts and airports are crowded. Does anyone know for sure if Springbreak is the entire month of March? Does if bleed over to April?

Gina- You may want to consider somewhere like Tulum - it is kind of "off the beaten path" in terms of it's about an hour or so away from Cancun's airport, and therefore kind of discourages highschool/college kids. If you want all the clubbing and night life though, stay near Cancun! Just a thought!

Our wedding is 26th March 2010. It falls over Easter and spring break. Travel from the UK over Easter is a huuge money making machine. We are paying an absolute fortune for this time of year. We stupidly set our hearts on the date (10 yrs to the day we met) and the location before doing our homework on dates, prices etc. See the 2010 brides thread for more ranting from me about this if you're interested! girl_werewolf.gif

I would recommend anyone to change their arrangements to avoid these times, more so to avoid inflated price increases rather than the spring breakers.

Best of luck with your decision.

I took this into account as well, however, still decided to have an April wedding- 3rd Friday. I hope I will not run into this problem, but as TA Jill mentioned the higher end resorts discourage spring breakers from booking rooms at that time of year.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
