Any Sun Palace Brides out there?!

Recommended Posts

Hi! Sorry, I've been so busy with work I haven't had time to come on here!

We decided to go with the complimentary package and then just do add ons, that seemed like the best choice according to everyone on here.

Paola is great! right after the first of the year she came at me in full wedding mode! So I'm feeling better about it.

Right now we have 63 guests, so we'll be having our reception on the spa terrace...reading your post about it was the deal sealer :)

Any advice? Anything you would do different?

I was a Sun Palace bride :) I had the Amethyst package and it was AMAZING... I seriously wouldn't have changed a thing!!! We had a rehearsal dinner, Cocktail hour and Dinner reception. Here are a few pics i've been meaning to post :) Let me know if you have ANY questions!! I would HIGHLY recommend getting the video of the ceremony. He included everyone being seated, coming down the aisle, the ceremony, candids of the group getting our pics, the cocktail hour with our first dance, mother son and father daughter dance as well as the speeches at the beginning of dinner and the cutting of the cake... everyone who sees it is amazed at how beautiful it turned out. I brought an ipod and speakers with us for the first dances/cocktail hour and he plugged into our ipod and mixed some of our songs throughout the dvd. It made us both tear up the first time we watched it!

I used an outside florist for the bridesmaid bouquets, Groomsmen's boutonnieres, Centerpieces as well as the rose petals that I used on the aisle. I used the included bridal bouquet as well as boutonniere. My bouquet was BEAUTIFUL.

Congratulations! Wow! Your wedding was beautiful, just like the pictures on the website. I love your dress and decorations! I’m really excited now! Did you personalize the wedding ceremony? Did you use the resort photographer and videographer?

My father in law married us :) The funny thing is we were so worried about getting our marriage license before heading down... since that's what all the websites say. NO ONE asked to see our license in Mexico. I thought that was a little weird. Maybe it was because we had our own minister. I only used the resort photographer for our rehearsal dinner. I'll post those pics for you to see. We flew Jackie and her husband, Andy from Dallas | Fort Worth Wedding Photography { Blue Sunshine Photography } down. They did AMAZING work and took over 3k pics.

Some of my advice : If you are having your hair done I recommend bringing pics AND having a trial run a couple days before. Thankfully I had my stylist at home do a trial and take pics for me. Rosy was my stylist at the resort and she copied the style PERFECTLY. One of my bridesmaids and my mom had their hair done by some guy and they both HATED it. My bridesmaid actually went back to the room and re-did it:) I think they would've had better look with pics. Especially with the language barrier.

Wedding Coordinator: I cannot say enough about Paola. She was AMAZING!!! She truly made our day perfect. She kept everything on time and had such attention to detail. I REALLY wanted sparklers for our exit and my husband and I actually spent half a day looking for them. She went on her own time after work to look for them. She felt so bad about not being able to find them that she surprised us with this....

I cried like a baby when I saw this!!!

Our wedding was actually on my dad's birthday and she arranged a special cake to be delivered to him at our reception.

I HIGHLY recommend the resort videographer!!! I CANNOT say that enough!! Our DVD was so professional. All of our friends and family tell us it's the best wedding dvd they have ever seen! Do yourself a favor and buy the dvd! SOOOO worth it. The Harpist was beautiful too.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
