So sorry to hear that. I hope that you still go through with you wedding plans. It will still be the best because you will be marrying your FI. When are you planning on leaving?

I'm sooo sorry. These are terrible things to happen during you wedding. But my TA said things would probably be changing in the next couple days so maybe you will get a couple more people to go!!!!

i'm so very sorry. what does your FI think? does he still want to go through with the wedding there? he is truly the one who matters most. i am glad your parents will still come ... does FI have any family at all coming?

and please know that just because people have canceled, it doesn't mean they don't love you both. some people just scare easily, others have medical reasons, and still others will be kept out of work that they can't afford to miss. honestly if they are scared enough to cancel their own trip, they probably love you enough to *wish* you'd cancel yours to be safe. i know it is very hard not to be hurt and you must be so devastated.

Wow, I'm just going to ignore that post - thanks girls for defending me, glad it got straightened out already! I think people that know me here (I've been around for over 2 years) know that I am not one to cause drama, I was just backing Des up - sometimes we feel good about that (when someone has our back), we all kind of take care of each other around here. Lord knows we don't need more drama at a time like this!
You guys all of my wedding guests have bailed on me!! We already were having a small group and now no one wants to go. Oh gosh, I'm really sorry...

I had planned for hardly anyone to show up - it came to the point where we just needed to make a decision one way or another, stick with that, put out positive energy and just see where things go! Certain things are just out of our control. I'd actually prepared myself for my Grandparents not wanting to come (totally understandable because of their ages) - they are like my parents (my Mom died when I was young and I lived with them for a long time - they helped raise me ). I will admit I avoided my Grandma for 2 days because I just wasn't ready to face it, but yesterday when I turned my attitude around and started working on my Visionary Board everything seemed to change - it happens from the inside out, right?! Today she is on board!

I guess what I'm trying to say is do you think it will be OK for Y'ALL if it's just you and your parents?? Dig deep, and when you find the answer know that whatever you decide is OK. Maybe you can start working on your own visionary board? Just a suggestion... I know personally that has really helped me! Maybe cut out pics of your parents and you and FI and the amazing location.... I know I am feeling more and more grateful for each day and each happy moment.

I truly believe things happen for a reason and that there are some good lessons for us all to learn from this! I can't explain why... I just feel it.

                    We'll make it through, girls!!!

Agreed, well said. I'll share an email with y'all from my friend (and hairstylist/makeup artist). It was really sweet and gets to the point of all this marriage stuff :

Hello Jaime, I received the message from S. (bridesmaid) about the postponed party.I am hope you are well and support your decision to take care of yourself.I want to assit you in any way to do that.I will contact S. to see how I can assit her in giving a great girlie party.Maybe a slumber party with yummy food and laughing and good ol' times like we did when we were kids.....and you will not be able to do once your married! You know I know that.Which brings me to something I want you to know and remember for the next few weeks as you are having to make difficult decisions.I know you have vested so much in your ceremony and everyone is so excited to witness and celebrate your union, however right here...right now you have everything. You have the perfect union. It's done. You have supportive family and friends.Every day we celebrate with you!I cannot expect you to understand.I would have not as a new bride myself. It is not about the ceremony. It is about now...today...and every step of the way....I asking you to have faith and believe as someone who took that journey and understands what is really important.Your week in Mexico is so important and I am so excited to be apart of it to witness you grow into a woman..a wife...what I am saying is you alraedy are.this is your journey and I am there for you as is everyone else.I will pray that the borders are not closed and our plans to celebrate will forge on.I will continue to pray for your health. In the meantime...you call me anytime, even if you just want to eat some good food..vent...cry ....or laugh..i am here. You know I am always for a good laugh.I love you, Jaime.
So sweet! My sister whom I've not really spoken to in about 3-4 years (long story) also wrote me something similar about it just being a date on the calendar and it is what's truly in your heart that counts those many years later in a marriage. Very sweet of them both.

I know it still sucks, but I think it helps to hear this from women who have been married. :) SO many people care about each and every one of us! And if for whatever reason plans fall through, it definitely does not mean they do not love us. I think a lot of people really feel for us in this uncertain time!
