The note of a military travel ban is mentioned in CNN's article.

Honestly, if your day is in July - I wouldn't jump the gun so fast, but rather have a backup plan. Things could certainly change for the better or worse in the coming weeks/months. Plus if WHO says a pandemic is imminent, then travel anywhere to any country could be restricted, not just to Mexico alone.

The irony in this all is that it seems Mexico is actually stabalizing, and now it is spreading even more to other areas. Craziness...

I just don't understand why the media had to get so into this. Thousands of people die every year from the common flu .. which is contagious, but you don't see people getting all panicky. 91 people confirmed and the world goes nuts. Ahh I wish Paris Hilton would go back to being a S*ank so the media has something else to talk about and not ruin peoples weddings and travel plans.

welllll, shit. i don't know what else to say. looks like the U.S. is going to be the next big hit. i don't think i want to go out to clubs this weekend (for our bach parties) ~ there are more cases here where I live than where we're "planning" on getting married! i wasn't worried about mexico, but now i'm kind of worried about just going out in my own city! my immune system is not too great... i've been feeling ill for a few days. gotta hang in there until my doc appt on monday! sad.gif

Hi girls,

I just wanted to provide you all with an update. We were supposed to leave this Saturday for our wedding at Dreams Tulum in the Mayan Riviera. We've managed to reschedule our wedding! Our new resort is the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites in Montego Bay, Jamaica. I have a mere two weeks to plan my new wedding before leaving for my 'honeymoon' on May 11th (yes, BEFORE my wedding!) We're back in Canada for 2 days, then off to Jamaica on May 30th. Our new wedding day is June 2nd. So far, 36 of our 55 guests have re-booked so that feels really good. Everyone has been really supportive.

Now I need to see whether there is an Iberostar Rose Hall Suites thread... haha.

Thanks for all your well wishes. It's been a tough week but I'm starting to feel better today.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
