Yesterday it was confirmed that my school district has a case of H1N1 flu. Now someone in my living area has or had it (meaning I can get it at the grocery store) and someone in my district (meaning I can get it at work) BUT no one in the Riviera Maya has it..hmmmm!

I was reading on the WHO site today that the USA actually has more cases of H1N1 than Mexico...yet no one has canceled flights to the US? I hope this goes away soon because if my wedding gets canceled twice I will actually cry this time...it really sucks to be unsure that you are getting married!

O.K!!! OFFICIALLY: The SWINE FLU can kiss my @$$!!!!!!! We we're supposed to leave for our resort visit on Tuesday, May 12. My FI just got off the phone with Mexicana AIR. Our flight has been cancelled due to the STINKIN' SWINE FLU!!! They said that we have to wait til Monday before we should do anything. They said we might be able to get a flight on Monday, it just depends if there are enough passengers on the plane to make the trip!! We have all these appointments with majority of all our vendors, not to mention, it was like pulling teeth to try to coordinate!!

*sigh* I need a drink!

Not much to complain about, but we were supposed to arrive at 10am and now we are arriving at 12:45pm. The canceled our connecting flight from MIA to CUN so now we have a 3 hour layover sad.gif, but hey, at least I'm still going!

I'm sorry i'm joining this thread so late. I am supposed to be getting married on June 3rd and it looks like they just canceled our flights to Mexico! Air Transat just extended their cancelations to June 19th! WHAT THE HECK! Its the frickin flu! over 4000 Cdns die every year from the flu and there have been 50 worldwide!!!! Why are they doing this!!! We now have to try to move our destination elsewhere - in a matter of days. It took weeks to put this wedding together and now i have to slap something else together!huh.gif life is unfair!!! I hope not to many other brides are going through this! This is a nightmare!

The hotel said they will refund our deposit but I signed a contract with my photographer and paid a stinkin lot of money up front that was non-refundable!!! This sucks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
