Ladies,

I just want to say that we are warriors!!! Talk about bride sisterhood?? I just can't believe all of this is happening, but we are moving forward! It seems to be slowing down (or at least the media has found something else to talk about it). We are three weeks away and have got a lot of emails and calls....so far only the people coming with kids are on the fence but everyone else has been really supportive and not panicking! We have 120 people confirmed and will probably loose a few...oh well, i am trying to focus on the last planning I have to do and praying that this thing will be small by the next couple weeks.

Keep forward my fellow brides!!!!

ok, one more thing from me for today wink.gif

I hope some of you get a laugh out of this like I am right now....

So I just found out that a couple of days ago, the HR lady at my work issued a company wide announcement about employees traveling internationally during this pandemic...i haven't seen it yet but it but from some other people from my work told me this morning is that basically I am being forced to stay home (work from home) for 2 days when I get back to the US, yes paid and all! apparently they are worried i might bring the crud back so they are "quarintining" me! rofl.gif

i am not the only one in mexico right now either...one other co-worker of mine is in cancun right now too! so he will be "quarintined" as well!

yes, I might bring it back...but it is soo freakin funny to me that they are freaked about it this much!!! again there are no confirmed cases in PV but now there are 2 in Denver....um aren't my chances of getting/having it way worse if i were in Denver?! smile105.gif

so i apparently can't go back to work until next wednesday! good news for you all too, hopefully while at home i will be able to get you pics and get my reviews done!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, 120 people! That's great!! And awesome that everyone's being so supportive. My guests have fortunately been very supportive as well and that has helped incredibly.

Best of luck to you!! You will have an amazing time : )

I do feel like we're kind earning a badge of honor by going through this : ) I think the hardest part for me is the extreme ups and lows depending on what I hear on the news....# cases are down - yay! More cases - doom and gloom. I'm going to really try just to not watch any news this weekend (try...) and hopefully my sanity starts to come back. THe other reason this is been so hard for me is I was engaged a few years ago and 6 weeks before the wedding (just like now!!)the wedding was called off (by me, long story - BEST CHOICE OF MY LIFE) but I'd still done all of the planning for a year for a destination wedding(Hawaii that time)...anyway I feel like Ive worked too damn hard having now spent YEARS Planning not only 1, but 2 destination weddings and I will fight like hell to make sure this works!!!Good thoughts for us all!!

LOL, right! We just went out and bought Airborne too. We tried to buy masks but Walgreens was out of stock!

And AWESOME news about the missing amino acid, and the fact about it possibly not hitting the elderly! I know my Grandparents have been concerned... I feel so bad, I've been avoiding my Grandma's phone calls... I just couldn't handle it, but I think I will call her today!

My budget was tight, so I didn't plan on making OOT bags. Now I am!

However, I never would have guessed 10 months ago or a week ago that my OOT bags would include:

- N95 face mask! (from Amazon)

Other items

- Hand sanitizer (still need to purchase)

- Airborne (still need to purchase)

In case someone does get sick in Mexico, what happens? What is yourplan of action and what is the plan of US/Mexico government?

I don't mean to make anyone anxious, but it's always good to be prepared!

Bumbles - Here is the email I sent to my guests. I talked to the CDC personally and luckily picked up my Tamiflu Rx yesterday! I hope this helps!

"Greetings Again!

I wanted to let all of you know that I just got off the phone with the CDC. I wanted them to clarify "non-essential travel" as it pertains to our situation. As of now they would not recommending that we cancel wedding plans as we have invested a lot of time and money in planning (therefore it is essential to us). I do understand that many of you have families that are your number one priority and that our wedding is not considered as essential to you as it is to us. Please know that we are monitoring this very closely. I will call the CDC back in a few days and will give you another update. A lot can change in 7 days.

The CDC did make several recommendations for those that still plan on traveling:

1. Call your doctor and tell them you are traveling to Mexico. Request a prescription for Tamiflu for Relenza to take with you. You will have it on hand should you start to develop any symptoms which will drastically reduce your infection. If necessary ask for several disposible masks to take with you (these will be great for pictures!).

2. Call your health insurance provider to make sure that you have coverage in Mexico should you need to visit a doctor or hospital. There is a doctor on-site at the Royal, but I have also be provided you with the information for the closest hospitals in Playa del Carmen below:

- Clinica Medica del Carmen - Medical Service in Playa del Carmen
Hospital services: 984-873-0885
Location: 25th Ave. between Calle 2 and Juarez

- Hospiten - Medical Service in Playa del Carmen
Full hospital with all medical and emergency services: 984-803-1002
Location: Hwy 307 on the North bound side near the Playacar entrance

3. Take all regular precautionary flu measures (i.e. wash your hands often or use antibacterial lotion (with 60% alcohol or more), sneeze into your sleeve, not your hand and don't shake hands with a lot of people, etc).

4. Monitor your health for seven days after your return.

For those that haven't already done this and plan to go to Playa, please register your travel with the US Department of State (https://travelregistration.state.gov/ibrs/ui/). Registration allows you to record information about your upcoming trip abroad so that the Department of State can assist you in case of an emergency."

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
