To make matters worse the company I am travelling with has said absolutely NO REFUNDS, just issuing travel vouchers. If the airline doesnt come up with something I am goingto make it my life mission to ensure no one flies with them again.... so frustrated!
Did you pay for it on a credit card? If you did you can get a FULL refund get the credit card company on to them.

I love that pic lol One of FI's mates keeps making noises like a pig then coughing lol irritating but v funny lol

Well I've checked the web today and there are no more updates ALL flights are cancelled so until they make a decision beyond 8th May (which probs won't be for a week!) then I think my wedding is off! I've managed to get an appointment at our Registry Office and beg for them to make the initial appointment so that we can just sneak in and do it - but its breaking FI's heart

sgbrown, my wedding is on 5.23.09 at Moon Palace, my guests are freaking out too. Especially the ones with children, everyone is worried about contracting the flu on the resort, or from someone else on our flights. We are actually thinking about changing our destination now, and maybe at this point, moving it back a couple of months. I've been totally sad this whole week. But you can't put a price on people's health, I'd never forgive myself if somebody got sick during our trip. frown.gif

My wedding is on the same date. No one is freaking out yet, but I think I might be hearing something from FI's grandma this weekend... She was already hesitant to travel to Mexico. All I know is that as long as I am allowed to fly to Mexico, I will be there!

I think its horrible that tour operators in Canada have completely canceled the flights. Its not like its something the government decided. I hope all the brides affected still get the perfect day they have dreamed about.

ok. I am officially feeling SAD this morning. Not just a little sad----- big sad. We sent an email out to our guests last night and we both woke up this morning feeling blue.

Usually FI is the one to make the jokes and see the silver lining and the poor thing was shaving when I woke up and as soon as I said good morning he dropped everything and hugged me and said "I'm depressed". sad.gif It breaks my heart.

I am just numb today actually. It's all so weird. I mean who the HELL would have thought this would be what we were worrying about 3 weeks out to our wedding day. I'm also pissed. I don't know if i'm pissed at media, gov't, pigs or what but I am. Thanks for listening.

Thank God for this forum.

Our wedding is now cancelled. We made the decision yesterday, and then a few hours later, our vacation company stopped all flights to Cancun so it looks like we made the right decision.

We are moving our wedding to another resort and currently working on finding a date that works for our guests. Regardless, we will be losing some guests since the new date may not work for everyone. Sigh.

One funny thing is that my FI and I will be taking our (non-refundable) European honeymoon BEFORE our wedding! We leave on May 11th!

Awww Yamille, I'm so sorry sad.gif What did you guys decide to email your guests? Have you guys decided to cancel or postpone or just wait it out?

It pains me to be going through this and to hear of all these forced cancelations/postponements. And I fear with my wedding not being too far away, I will be experiencing the same soon.

My frustrations are pretty much directed to all -- media, pigs, govt., disease, panic, etc. -- about 30 minutes ago my editor asked me to write a swine flu story. He knew I had been crying the past two days about this damn flu and was hesitant to ask. But I did it...and I hated it. censored.gif

I know everything happens for a reason, but plain and simple, I am bitter. We have all spent tireless hours planning our dream weddings, perfecting details, and making sure everything is just peachy. And for something like this to happen...it's just not fair.... sad.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
