I * HEART* wine - FI and I try a new wine every weekend. But i really only like Reds :)

Anything from Spain from the Ribiera Del Duero. Im also a fan of Malbecs. For our wedding in Mexico we are having 2006 Catena Malbec from Argenitina - they sell it at Costco - u guys should try it!!

For our legal day FI (well i guess technically DH) and I splurged and got 2002 Stags Leap Fay Cabernet Sauvignon - OMG it was the most amazing wine I have ever had...so worth every penny!

Since this is a wedding forum and this is a wine related thread i'm going to post this here: lol Have any of you seen one of the newest trends for weddings is having the couples favorite bottles and assortments of wine out for their guests autographs and messages? The the guests are provided with gold or silver permanent markers to write their special notes or comments on them. I just saw this and thought it was a great idea/ keep sake.... just wanted to pass it on wink.gif One couple had 25 bottles, one for every anniversary until their 25th.

I am a huge fan of wine! We have 2 wine fridges in the house and usually keep about 3 cases on hand at any one time. My two favorite vineyards are:

Wolffer Estate Vineyards: Home

For reds: the Claletto and Caya are AMAZING!

My California favorite is:

Welcome to Cakebread Cellars

For whites: Chardonnay..... that's all there is!

Can you think of anything we could do after the fact?? Like, I dunno, maybe on each of our anniversaries put a bottle of wine away with a little note about our relationship or something. I don't know when you would drink them then though!?
Or maybe each year drink the one you put away from the year before!? Hmmmm...something to think about (and remember to do!!) LOL

Oh...and sorry! hijacked.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
