Hey ladies. Hopefully you can help me with something. My SIL will be 7 months pregnant when we're in St. Lucia. I know, a little crazy, but it's her decision. Anyway, she's super active/athletic, so obviously she won't be able to do everything she had originally wanted to do. She, my brother, my dad, and I were going to go ziplining through the rain forest one day. Well now that she can't go, she doesn't want my brother to go. I understand that totally sucks for her, but I wanted to go ziplining with my brother. My brother said he won't do anything she can't do.

So I'm asking the girls on here who have ever been or are pregnant, would you tell him to go and have fun, or is it only fair that he shouldn't go because you couldn't go?

I think they as a couple have already made up their mind. If it is not something they want to do, then it's their decision.
On the other hand...if your brother really wanted to go, then maybe he could suggest a spa day for her! She may not be so reluctant to let him go if she has something fun planned. Or maybe she's just jealous because it's something they had planned on doing together...and she wants him to wait to do it with her when she's able.
What is your brother saying about it all??

thats tough... sometimes it seems a little selfish to do that to ur partner.. BUT like Amanda said, if she has something fun to do while u are doing that.. maybe she wont be so apt to say no!

My brother just kind of goes along with whatever she wants. I know he wants to go, but he won't because she already made an issue of it. I'm NOT getting involved, that's up to them to decide, I'm just curious how other prego couples would handle this type of situation.

By the way, my SIL's idea of fun is ziplining and playing sports. The spa day just wouldn't do it for her. I guess I'll be having a fun morning with just my dad (which is fine).

That's too bad Kristy! Maybe once there she might change her mind! In any case I'm sure you'll have a great day with your dad!!

thats too bad... i guess sometimes people only think about what they are missing out on.. I know if i was in your situation i would be a little irritated because you are only going to get one destination wedding.. and your brother and dad are only going to be able to do that with you once!.. so to me its a little selfish but who am i to say that

So do you think she TOLD your bro he couldn't go? Or did they come to the conclusion together? I personally wouldn't care if DH went ziplining, but then again I probably would be to scared to do that anyways. If you really have your heart set on hanging out w/ your bro maybe you could think of an excursion that you could all do. Or could SIL go to the ziplining place w/ you and take pics of everyone doing it? Maybe she wouldn't feel "left out" then??

Honestly, being the pregnant hormonal person I am right now (I'll be 7 months tomorrow...) I probably would cry if my husband went without me
Basically, just because I'd be SO jealous and I'd want to go so badly. I know it'd be terrible of me to stop him, and I'd probably still let him go... but I'd cry. And since I'd cry, he'd probably not go.
BUT, being very limited in what i could do, although I too would MUCH rather go ziplining or do something adventurous, at this stage in the pregnancy I'd take a massage. And then if I had something to do instead of just sitting by myself... maybe I'd be okay?

Its for sure the couples decision. Being pregnant is really uncomfortable and you are highly emotional so I can see why she would want him not to go. You never know though, maybe when you are all there she will change her mind, but for now dont push it and just be glad that they are going to make it to your big day.

I definitely agree... When I was prego it wasn't that I told my FI not to but he new I would want to go and be sad about it so he would do things like that to be nice... I know it dosn't seem like the fairest thing in the world but these are the things that happen when your pregnant. At 7 months my FI would not have let me out of his site. That Nervous Nancy, my FI is when it comes to me
