***TTD (Trash the Dress) Thread - please post all of your questions here!

I used my wedding dress in our TTD pics and it turned out fantastic! My dress is satin with lots of beading and embroidery. In fact, my dress was filthy on the bottom after our reception and after the ttd, there's hardly any mess left! I attached the slideshow from my photographer in case you want to have a look...the ttd pics are on the last 2 pages.

LADIES I don't have a TTD incorporated in my wed package so how do you do this? I would do the TTD after the ceremony but then I wouldn't have my dress for the reception?? I don't think it would work at night either?? Any thoughts? I thought about getting another dress for the reception but I want my pics of me in my dress. I could get another dress as the one I have but I don't want to buy another. Maybe I will talk to the photographer. Thanx

Heather,

Most brides do their TTD session the day after the wedding, that way the dress is perfectly fine for the reception and you aren't worried about having to re-do hair, makeup, etc. Maybe you can work out something with your photographer to do an add-on day after session.

Thanks Christina for your input. We may do the TTD before everything! It's kind of backwards but oh well this may be the only way it will work. So our ceremony is at 5/5:30pm right now so we are thinking we will do TTD at 3ish to give us time to shoot and get ready for ceremony. I hope this works out and I am not rushing to get ready!

So I've been looking into photographers the past bit and found someone who I really wanthave for my wedding. I am really wanting to do a TTD session and I asked if I could do it the next morning. As that seems like when the most popular time to do them is. But the photographer said he cant do it the next day. But he can do it the same day. My ceremony is set for 4 and dinner at 8:30. What does everyone think about doing sunset then I guess change into a cocktail dress or something? Has anyone done it this way before?

I have quicly become and addict of the site and looking at everyone's plans and photos. So, first, thanks for sharing all of your great ideas, pictures and useful advice.

So, I am wondering what are your thoughts on TTD shoots? I am still undecided about whether or not I want to do one. I think that it looks like a ton of fun and the photos are really one of a kind and look like a "bonus" to having a beach wedding.

My "problem" is that I find most of the shoots to be very sexy and provocative. I think they are truly spectacular for all of the brides that I have seen on this site. But, I am not a very sexy person, nor do I have a sexy size 6, 20 year old body. I am 40 years old and I have kids.... So.....

What do you think? Should I go for the TTD?? Does anyone have any experiences that they would like to share? Any advice? Does anyone have any examples of "less provocative" TTD shoots? Has anyone done a TTD shoot and regretted it?

I'd appreciate any words of wisdom that you can offer. Thanks ladies :)

I was not convinced about the TTD...and same, without BDW I would have never considered it! (other than seeing it listed in our photog's package). While I'm not 100% in your shoes, I agree that some are very provocative and racy. I can tell you now that ours will not be that way. My FI would NEVER go for that. You can make it what you want! I've seen some really great photos that came from TTD shoots.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
