***TTD (Trash the Dress) Thread - please post all of your questions here!

I think I decided to wear the wedding dress for some crazy "TTD" pictures. Mostly I want the water ones but our resort also has a circus thing with a trapeze and trampoline and I think those could make awesome pictures. I'm slightly worried about getting on the trapeze with my dress because I plan on wearing it again to our AHR and don't want to ruin it. I'll probably end up just hanging off it and swinging.

My only concern at this point is how to get it home. After spending a week at the resort (Jamaica) we're flying to puerto rico and going on a cruise for a week. My fiance's job transferred us away from all family and friends back in the summer. Nobody from Louisiana (where we live now) is going so I don't know how to get the dress home without it being a huge pain. This really is a problem regardless of doing the TTD though... I doubt i'll be seeing anybody again before our AHR either...

I am so excited for my TTD! I'm still undecided on whether to get another dress specifically for TTD or not. Our budget is pretty tight so that would just add more cost. I don't think that I'd wear my dress for the AHR because it'll be a casual party so if I end up ruining the dress in the ocean...I'm not sure how I feel about it. I wouldn't be wearing it again and my friend got her dress cleaned and can't even look at it cause it's locked away in a box so what does it matter if it's got some water spots? I don't knowhuh.gif

A few brides have said that they bought their dresses off other brides here....how do you do that?

Most brides here who have dresses for sale list them in the buy, sell, trade, or freebies subforum located here: Buy, Sell, Trade, or Freebies! - Best Destination Wedding Forum ~ The Ultimate Destination Wedding Resource

In regards to make-up for my TTD I was bad and I went to bed with all of it still on! We went to bed pretty late and woke up around 5 am so we could have time to get ours situated at the cenote before the sun was too high in the sky. I only slept with my make-up on for about 5 hours. I also had my fake eyelashes on and they stayed on until the very last shots in the water.

If my make-up had come off overnight I would just reapplied lightly in the morning.

Ok so inside scoop FI and I did our TTD shoot this past weekend. I decided to hit the make up counter before hand and all the make up I got lasted all through the shoot even in the water. Even though i have my regular make up on hand I really didn't want to have to apply a base , loose powder etc. So I decided to hit up the make up isle and get some new things to test out in the water. I had no make up accidents whatsoever throughout the shoot and it was great not to have to keep reapplying but still getting that "fresh no make up on" look and feel!

This is what i got:

- Maybelline Unstoppable Expresso Eyeliner

- Loreal Summer Dusk eyeshadow for Brown Eyes

- Revlon Color Stay Mineral Foundation with SPF 10

- Cover Girls Volume Exact Waterproof Mascara

- Revlon Color Stay Overtime Perpetual Pink Lipcolor (this was awesome!)

I cant wait to get the picture picture teaser Saturday!

I have seen some photographers do really awesome pics (not sure if they were TTD) at old, abandoned buildings, anyplace colorful and traditionally Mexican (villages, the street, etc).

How do you want to "trash the dress"? I've seen New York brides jump in fountains, have the bride and groom squirting ketchup and mustard at each other, etc.

If you really want to trash your dress to the point of no return you can could always "burn" it or rip it somehow.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
