My question is How long did it take you dress to dry out. I can make up my mind when I want to do the TTD. We dont really want to get up the morning after the wedding, so Monday would be the next best day, but then thats where my problem comes in we would leave to come back to the states on Wed. Do yall think my dress would be dry by then?

We did our TTD on Sunday morning after the wedding and I soaked it. We left on Wednesday and the very bottom hem of my dress was still a tiny bit wet. I hung it up the entire time inside, but not outside. If you hang it up outside where it's warmer and breezy it may dry faster. My dress was some type of silk and only a single layer. There was no taffeta or anything else on it.

I think it will depend on what type of material your dress is made of and how many layers your dress has on whether it would dry if you do your TTD on Monday.

Thanks so much, my dress has a lace over lay but that isn't going to hold water. I will just have to remember to hang it outside.

My dress had a lace overlay and I trashed it on Saturday and flew home on Monday. I didn't hang it outside at all, just rinsed it in the bathtub and hung it in the closet. And it was dry by the time we left on monday morning. VERY sandy... but dry! :)

And Mccrary, I just left it in the closet until we left. Then i wrapped it up in the pastic bag I brought it in, and shoved it in the empty suitcase that I used to bring down my OOT bag stuff. Worked lovely

I am planning on doing a ttd the day after our wedding. I am also planning on wearing my dress again at our ahr so I'm obviously concerned that my dress will be ruined and I won't be able to wear it. I have read through this entire thread and for the most part it seems as though the dresses came out like new! My questions is.....are there any brides who did a ttd in water and had their dress acually trashed so badly that they couldn't wear it again?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
