Hi Ladies!

We're doing a cruise for our wedding and getting married in St. Thomas while the ship is in port. I hadn't considered doing a TTD shoot until I saw all of the gorgeous pictures from all the other brides in this forum. I think it's something I'd like to do (cost permitting) but I'm not sure if it's feasible for a cruise bride given the condensed timeline?

Here's what our schedule looks like the day of the wedding:

  • 7:00am- ship docks and we'll be heading to pick up our documents immediately (should only take an hour tops before we're back on the ship)
  • 8:00am-noon getting ready on the ship
  • 1:00-1:30 beach ceremony
  • 1:30-4:00ish pictures, cake, champagne, open bar & hors d'oevres on the beach
  • 6:00 ship departs
  • 8:00 dinner in one of the private restaurants

We've booked our photographer for 2 hrs. At what point would I fit a TTD shoot in? I'd be curious to know if there are any other cruise brides out there who have done a TTD shoot or who are considering it.

Would love to hear from you!

We are going on a separate honeymoon after the cruise and have considered doing the TTD then... cost permitting. Although, I am still trying to convince my FI.

I had also considered doing it while we are in another port after our wedding... not sure if that would be an option for you.

  • 3 weeks later...

Do most people buy a second dress for a TTD sessionhuh.gif Also i've told people about wanting to do this; and they look at me like I have 10 heads!! THere responses have been "do you want do do that?" I love all the pics I see of people who have done the TTD. Is it just me, or has anyone else had reactions like that?

I am definitely buying a second cheap dress for my TTD, I know the concept is kind of lost but I love fashion and my wedding dress is going to feel like art in my closet. It serves no purpose after my wedding day except for it being something pretty to look and make me smile every time I see it :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
