unfortunately, my make up bag was still in the room of my now SIL and i didn't have the heart to wake her and get it! sad.gif

so i cleaned up what was left on my face (waterproof mascara and eye liner, thankfully, stay in place pretty well as it turns out!). we ended up wearing sunglasses for most of the pictures anyway. i was bummed out that i didn't get a chance to wear my lashes for the TTD though.

i didn't have any problems with show-through with my dress, but i did wear the corset bra again.

aside from a few teasers, we haven't gotten our pics back yet. but here's one that shows us coming out of the water (it's a little difficult with a full crinoline and skirt!). fun stuff.

yep, it was definitely still wet the next day. it's pretty humid in mexico, so my dress was actually still damp when i brought it home a week later. i packed it up in a big plastic bag and put it in a suitcase to bring it home! :)

at home, i gave it (and the crinoline) a nice little soak in a cool tub (to help get the rest of the sand out, etc) for a couple hours. it came quite clean, actually, and took probably a day or two to fully dry. it's just a little dirty right at the hem and on the side from lying in the sand. i'm sure a wedding dress cleaner would have absolutely no issues getting it clean, and mine is satin as well. so not ruined at ALL!

let me know if you have any other questions, and thanks! i'm excited to see the rest of my pictures!

So I have a question about timing....FI and I are leaving our resort the day after the wedding to go to another resort and we were planning on waking up super early to take advantage of the sunrise in Tulum so starting our TTD at 6-6:30 the morning after the wedding.

Well I'm looking into a new photographer and one of them recommends that we not do it the morning after the wedding but wait until the following morning.  It's not a big deal we would just change to DT one more night we're only moving from Tulum to Playa del Carmen.  However, it would be nice to not have to change.  I understand what he's saying but for all of you that have done early morning TTD sessions the morning after your wedding what are your opinions?

I was able to find mine at one of David's Bridal's $99 gown sale. So if you have time to wait around for the next big sale, which they have so frequently, you might be able to find a great deal, I definitely did!

This is a good question, I was wondering this as well!

Another question, I'm not sure if this is right thread or not, but where is a good place to buy a second dress to trash? I just wanted a white strapless dress but I'm having a hard time finding one for around $100. Thoughts?

We also changed resorts the day after the wedding so we ended up meeting with our photographer at 6am to get some sunrise shots. We were a little sleepy, and actually just went with bed tossled hair and make up that I had slept in, just touched up a bit, actually made for some romantic pictures!

I actually recommend the morning after as the high of the wedding hasn't really worn off, and you probably still have some curl left in your hair.  I think it makes for better photos, but that's just me.

Also, you might have to wake up earlier than that.  That last trash the dress that I did in Riviera Maya was in February and we had to be on the beach by 5:45 so we could start shooting at 6 and the sun was up by 6:30.  So make sure you check the actual sunrise time and plan to be there BEFORE that.  The sun goes up quickly :)

we are definately waiting until we switch resorts...i really want to enjoy our first morning together as husband and wife; i've already scheduled breakfast in bed and our couples massage for later that morning; i just didn't have to worry about anything wedding related the day after, i want a nice relaxing morning!! but i also want the beautiful sunrise, so we are waiting...just my 2 cents

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
