How long is/did your AHR last?

Recommended Posts

I am trying to come up with how many hours I need to book my AHR venue for. I was thinking a total of 5 hours which includes setup/break down.

Do you guys think that 3 hours would be a sufficient amount of time?

Or should I be looking at 4 hours? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I think it depends on what type of AHR you want to have...we rented out a room at one of our favorite places and then we will have an open bar and hor'derves for 3 hours but the place will be open for people to stick around as long as they want. If you are doing a sit down dinner and dancing you probably want 5 if you are just doig cake 2 would be perfectly acceptable

What kind of AHR are you planning?

We rented a picnic area for $200 for the entire day (until sunset) so we plan to start our AHR at 1:00 with us getting there at around 12:00 to set up and we plan to go until the last person leaves and then just clean up and go. So it could go as long as 7-8 hours.

We are basically having a party. We're going to have a buffet, cake, bar, and a DJ so we got ours for 4 hours, from 6-10. The banquet hall we are having it at gives us one hour for free prior to the start of our event for our vendors to set up but that doesn't include the time we need to decorate so we will be paying for an extra hour for that.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
