Churches/Chapels in Riviera Maya

Recommended Posts

Hi SNolan,

Here is the website with contact info for Nuestra Senora del Carmen (they run the larger church as well as the smaller ocean-view chapel):  http://iglesiadelcarmen.org.mx/

There is a weekly English mass at the chapel, so they do have an English speaking priest on hand!

Hope that helps!  Happy Planning!

So glad to have stumbled across this post! One of the main reasons why I am having such a hard time finding a resort is because I want a Catholic ceremony and I knew not many resorts offer that. So far the Barcelo Maya Palace Deluxe is the front runner.

Hi Lori, just wanted to let you know that the Karisma line of resorts have two chapels on their properties.  I am getting married in less than 2 and a half weeks at the El Dorado Maroma chapel (we are staying at Azul Sensatori).  A little bit of extra paper work was all that was needed to arrange the Catholic ceremony.  Good luck with your planning :)

Sorry I just these posts now.  If you speak Spanish or have a friend that speaks Spanish, setting up the ceremony is not that bad.  I was quoted a ridiculous amount by one of the vendors to provide the service so I instead sought out my resources to help (Spanish speaking friends).

If anyone is interested PM me your contact info and I will send you what I had.  Not sure if it my info is up to date but the procedures should be more or less the same.

Hello Brides!

Dear Sally, Barcelo does have a Catholic Chapel on site.

The Church is very well organized all over the world so the process will not be that difficult, you just have to arrange all the paperwork with enough time.

For all of your questions here is the contact of the main office for all the chapels in Playa del Carmen and Riviera Maya area:

Hi everyone!

Has anyone gotten married in the Catholic Church in Tulum called Parroquia de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe?  I would love to hear more about having a wedding there and/or see pictures.  II do know about the legal/Catholic requirements for getting married in Mexico). We are interested in getting married there and then having our reception at Be Tulum, where we'll be staying.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Beth

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
