martha stewart pompoms

Recommended Posts

Has anyone made these? I was at Michaels today and they sell a kit to make them and they are in shades of pink, which is one of my colors. I thought I could make one to test it out before we went and then just make them when we get to mexico because we won't be able to travel with them.

I'm just wondering how they come out because they look really pretty.

Yes, they have a whole martha stewart section and there was so much stuff I wanted!

They only had pink, I think, but on here site they have instructions for how to make them and you don't need much so you could totally just buy your own stuff to make them in the color you wanted.

I'm going to buy a kit and try one and if I can make it pretty fast and it looks good then I'll make them in mexico, but I don't want to spend more than 30 minutes making them in mexico, so we'll see, I'll have to time myself.

Gosh, I feel like somebody was going to do these...but it was a long time ago. A few of us recently married gals went thru a huge DIY boost of energy for a few weeks early on in our planning (Sarah/AQHARIDER is the only one that actually kept her momentum!)- and that was a topic of discussion. I think they are really cute. Would you use them for reception decor?

Jill I love these. I also so thought someone else mentioned they might do this but I also can't remember who. I always wanted to do these but I didn't know where I would hang them. Where were you thinking of hanging them from? I think they are so festive and add nice color to the decor. And I love pink!

You know what else I just thought about looking at the pic you posted again? If you did your table decor like that (with just candles) you would save so much money on flowers. That is a great money saver. The table candles and the little pompoms on the napkins are all the decoration that you need. You could even add some scattered rose petals if you like. But I think in Mexico simplicty is best since the natural decor is so beautiful. And I'm a big fan of saving money! LOL. smile120.gif

I used them for my SIL baby shower they looked great!

They were very easy to do. I made them following the instructions and made them in several sizes. They really turned out great. I even mixed colors. The colors I used were 3 or four shades of pink, green and silver & white. Definitely great for adding color!

Yes, I wanted to hang them above the reception area, the kit I saw had light pink & fuschia which is perfect for my colors and they were all cut and ready to go, so I thought they would be easy and they look so pretty. Okay good, glad to hear some others have done them. Now I'm going to go buy the kit next week and test them out and time myself making them, because I can't assemble them until I get to mexico, I'll let everyone know how they turn out.

Glenda, thats a great idea about table decor too, I actually already bought some candle holders and a few other things so I'll have to try a mock table set up.

I LOVE the napkin rings too, I might have to do those too!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
