Canadian version of OTC?

Recommended Posts

So, I just posted in the Oriental Trading Company thread about shipping times from Canada, but upon calling them and asking about ship times, then almost placing an order, I realized it wasn't the shipping TIME that was the problem, but the the shipping COST.

For me to get my items in 2 weeks (or longer) I have to pay $45 in shipping alone!!! And that doesn't count the exchange rate on the actual order ... for 3 items (dozen of each) it cost me $70 CDN!! That's a bit steep for what I ordered ... (sticky notes, pens and fans)

So, I'm wondering if anyone knows of a Canadian equivalent to OTC? Or a store that carries the raffia fans in Ontario/Quebec? At this point I'm willing to drive into Ontario to get the items if any of you Ont girls know

Thanks ladies!

Hmmmm good question!! I too would love a Canadian version of OTC!

I ordered the silk fans from Beau-coup and I love them, they also arrived very quickly, but I can't for the life of me remember what I paid for shipping smile35.gif but check out Beau-coup Fans at Beau-coup Favors I'm placing a fan on each seat for the ceremony, I'm sure my guests will appreciate then while they are sitting there in the heat! I'm gonna keep one for myself... I'm sure I'll need a fan that day!!

It's so close now!!! And thanks for the suggestion ... I think we're at the point now where we can't order anything online. Anything and everything we need now has to be bought in a store ... which means fans, centerpiece stuff, OOT bag contents, etc. *sigh* Sometimes I wonder how I got so disorganized!! LOL

LOL! Too funny! YAY May 12!! Hey are we time twins too?? My ceremony is at 4pm...

Well found quite a few more OOT fillers at Dollarama (not sure if you have one in Montreal?) as well as Michael's, in the dolalr aisle. The best things that I bought was from those two stores. Good luck! smile03.gif

OMG we are totally date AND time twins!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As far as I know, my ceremony is at 4 p.m. but that might change ... depending on the tide. The beach is very small and if the water is too high, we're all going to get a little wet. Hehehe

We do have Dollarama stores here .... and that's an awesome idea! We're going to have to check them out ... we were thinking Wal-Mart too... and even Zellers. We want to get snacks as well, but we're going to wait till a little closer to the leaving date to bring food home ... or it won't make it to the OOT bags. LOL

And I'm so glad my blondeness amuses you all ... smile72.gif I know, I'm smooooth .... LOL

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
