Night Shift

Recommended Posts

Any other night shifters out there? I'm getting frustrated right now because it's spring... Warm weather, earlier sunrises, people outside enjoying their days... I'm trying to sleep people! You don't see me out cutting the grass at 2am why must you get up and cut yours at 9am when I'm trying to sleep!?

Lol just had to get that out... I can't wait for summer, but when I wake up with "pop goes the weasel" stuck in my head because the ice cream man drove down my street 8 times while I was sleeping, I wake up wanting to "pop" someone in the face!

Anyway... Thanks for letting me vent. fryingpan.gif

Know EXACTLY where you are coming from, Bobbysgirl!

I also work night shift from 3pm-11:30pm, and aside from the fact that I feel like I hardly ever see my FI (who's on 1st shift), people think it's so incredibly strange that I go to bed around 6-7:30 am and wake up around 1:30 pm to get ready for work! And yes, we have a snowball guy that drives through my apartment complex, but thankfully it's during a time when I am already up, so the kiddies in the neighborhood and I are both content!

Ugh, and I also can't wait for the mowers and maintenence guys to start all of their long-awaited summer projects, either! Hopefully, I'll be back on a 1st shift schedule by then!

Hang in there, sleepless lady!

Oh sweetie, I SOOO know what you mean!!! I get home around 4am, so by the time I actually go to bed the lawn guys are mowing, the kids are running around screaming, oh lets not forget last fall when they where putting the new roof on our townhouse!!

I've chalked it up to nature of the beast. And I've learned between all the outdoor noise, AND the FI snoring in 1 ear AND the cat snoring in the other ear, ear plugs are my best friend!

I wish ear plugs worked! I've tried everything! I've been on nights for over 3 years so i'm used to it, I really think I have the busiest ice cream man route in our city though. I mean its April for crying out loud, the forecast called for snow tonight, and the guys still drove down our street 3 times before 1pm when I woke up... censored.gif

check this out

This is what I have to deal with at work before I get to go home and deal with sleepless days

Oh ladies, I so feel your pain BangHead.gif

We live across from a middle school, so it's always so darn lovely when the marching band is practicing and playing horridly out of tune music as they march up and down the street and wake me from my slumber girl_werewolf.gif I have so many times been tempted to yell "SHUT THE $#?* UP!!!!!" at the top of my lungs, but I don't think that would be an appropriate contribution to the youth, lol. rolleyes.gif

Oh yes, and how can I forget how I can't sleep past 4 hours during the summers because it's too freaking HOT!!!! I HATE, HATE, HATE waking up sweating and feeling a warm yucky breeze coming through my window.

*sigh* the life of night-shifters ~ we should get a damn award for living like this shots.gif

Sadly no we don't get awards.........no actually wait, but we do get presents:

1) Never enough sleep attached with dark circles or bags under the eyes

2) The uncanny gift of getting to watch every infommercial known to mankind at unGodly hours

3) A wonderful ensemble of music known as "birds, the band and lawnblowers"

4) And pale skin because we never get enough sun

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
