Hints for creating your Mexican Candy Table ***Pics**

Recommended Posts

Hey Ladies,

Well among the most important things to me at my wedding was to have a candy table. I consulted a few people and was told that there was a Costco in Cancun, as well as Walmart and Sams club in Playa del Carmen. Upon arrival in Mexico, we decided to go to walmart for the candy, only to be seriously disappointed with the selection! We stopped at Sams club on the way back to the resort, and it was much cheaper and they had a few other options! I didn't have a membership, but the cashier was nice and used someone elses membership number for me...

I only say this to help die-hard candy lovers realize that the selection is very limited, and not like what you would find at home (to be expected really). If i was to do it again, i would definitely find a way to bring the majority of candy from home. The cost of the candy i bought down there was atrocious, and i could have just paid the overweight luggage fees instead. That being said, i got some really cute plastic bowls there for extremely cheap, and it ended up looking great and being a huge hit.

I know this thread will only help a few of you candy lovers, but i would have loved the info before i went, so hope it can help someone.

Oh, this is so cuteeee!! I really like the idea of candy table and for those wanting to have real Mexican candy, you must go to a "Dulceria" where you can find the candy made by artisans, in the big stores like Costco or Sams they have limited selections.

Here is one of the stores offering the real stuff in PDC area:

Dulces Artesaneles Riviera Maya. Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo. Paseo de la Castellana Lt. 9 La Toscana. (984). 984-1004650

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
