Hey Susana! Welcome back! Can't wait to read your review and to hear about everything. Also, I'd like to see the activities sheet as well when you get the chance.

Congratulations!

Thanks Susan. Just wondering, do you happen to know the schedule for nightly shows/activities for the nights you were staying at VM? I heard they did things like the fire dancers and other events. I want to figure out what may be going on at the hotel so I don't have a repeat of the show at my wedding.

Thanks!

Thanks so much for the activity sheet. It helps a lot, and now I know my guests won't be bored : )

I've also heard that there is a casino night, fire dancers, a circus night, and karaoke night. If you go on youtube.com, and type in Dreams VillaMagna - there are two guys that filmed several parts of their week-long vacation. They have film of about 3 or 4 shows. It is helpful to see some of the shows and how they are set up, but I don't know what time they each happen at night. Sorry.

Hi everyone! I was just wondering if any of you are working with a WC outside of the resort and is this any better than just working directly with the resort WC? I'm just looking for insight since I am still in the very early stages of planning!

Thanks!

Hi everyone. We got married in PV at Dreams VM awhile back when they first opened and while we had a great time, the main problem that we had was with the photographer. Please take my advice: do not use L & A studios or Leticia Alarcon. She did not adhere to our contract and is unreachable for response. We spent quite a bit of money hiring her and her work was not professional by any means. I'm not being picky - things like out of focus shots and sand and dirt on her camera sensor! Black spots in every picture. This is all in addition to violating the contract that she made with us. Use her at your own risk! Just wish to give everyone the heads up and save you from disappointment.

On a positive note, Yolanda, the wedding coordinator at DVM, was amazing! The wedding was perfect and she deserves so much praise for her professionalism and attention to detail. So, DO have your wedding at DVM, but DON'T hire Leticia Alarcon as a photographer.

thanks so much fojo! Do you happen to have a facebook/myspace or slideshow of pics (professional or not) from your wedding events? I would love to see! I have seen weddings at Dreams PV just recently while there on vacay and I am really interested in the newness of dreams VM! Thank you again so much! Did they reimburst (spelling??) you at all?? That is so awful to hear! Any other advice or complaints from you, your hubby, or guests? How many guests did you guys have? Which tower did you guys stay in? Any further advice would be sooooo greatly appreciated! Thanks again

Sorry for the late reply. I can post pictures later on once we have them compiled. Our best photos actually came from our friends. As far as specifics of VM - there are only two buildings that the resort owns, one has ocean views and the other one is behind the first building. The building that you see that is on the beach is full of privately owned condos. I think the Swine Flu scare actually helped us a lot, because all of our guests were upgraded to ocean view and we had the place to ourselves.

The only complaints that we had were the food, which varied from terrible to wonderful and the lack of 'included' non-motorized water sports (kayaks and other ocean equipment) which they said was due to them being in the process of attaining permission from the harbor master or something. I have heard that the food at Dreams PV is much better - but the facilities are older and it is much more of a 'party' type of atmosphere, whereas Dreams VM is more relaxed and laid back. If you want to party all night and do body shots, Dreams VM is not the place at all. If you are looking to relax, have good times, drink some beers, and get away from it all, then DVM is the place.

Feel free to ask me any specific questions that you might have. Good luck.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
