Anyone ever had a palm reading or other "psychic" stuff??

Just wondering if anyone has ever had a palm reading or other psychic reading of sorts?

I'm really so not a believer in that kind of stuff but we were on the boardwalk down the shore this weekend and my best friend wanted to get a palm reading. The place was super weird looking and come on real psychic powers working on the NJ shore boardwalk??

So we wait forever (apparently this lady cared more about her phone call than some actual customers) and she goes in. She comes out and starts telling me about it and it was so weird because everything she said was like spot on for her in her life and she commented on the things most prevalent in her life right now. I'm half laughing and half intrigued at this point. So I said hey what's $10 let me get one too. I even teased her and said I'll laugh if she tells me the exact same thing!

Well, mine was totally different and exactly right too!! It was sooo weird! Among other things she told me that

- I have too many people leaning on me.

- My family is central and are bringing frustration and depression into my life (lots of family drama lately but that's a whole other thread).

- She said that I have to learn to say no and accept that I'm not responsible for the world.

- I am already with the one I will marry.. but will have some times that I feel we are miles apart.. but she says that shouldnt take that as a sign that we should seperate.

- I will be an excellent mother.

- And I will only be in the field I'm currently in for 2-3 more years because it is too cold for me and is beating me up emotionally. (WEIRD I work in finance.. hedge funds). (also ironic is that 2-3 is when I'm projected to finish paying off a large amount of debt I have currently).

- She said she sees me in nursing or psychology (i've been talking about going to nursing school!)

Soo overall, I'm still not a total believer and I think we kind of meld things to make sense and relate in our heads for our own amusment. BUT it made me laugh and I was curious to see if anyone else had any similar experiences or can share your views thoughts on theses types of things! Have you done it? What did they say? Did any of it come true? Any funny stories?? Do share!

I have a lady who does readings for me 1-2 times a year. It is always right on and I totally believe in this stuff.

Now, there are oodles of shady and untalented people in the business too, so I'd caution everyone to beware of scam artists and not work with anyone who doesn't come personally recommended. (of course if it's $5-$10 at the beach for fun that's okay because if they are wrong so what, you had fun..but anything more be careful)

I had my palm read back 2 years ago on a whim and the psychic became my go-to psychic. I don't see her as much anymore; but she helped me through alot of tough times, I must admit. So far, a few things she told me have come true which is why I go back to her, but I don't base my whole life on it. I guess, like anything else, take it with a grain of salt. It'ds interesting to see if any of your predictions will come true.

WOW Jamy!! It's awesome to know that you've experienced someone that has truly been right and helpful to you. Very cool!

We really just did it for fun but I have to admit her accuracy was pretty scary. I never expected it to be so right and so specific!

It can be very insightful and depending on what kind of medium you have, you can even communicate with people who have passed away. (mine does that with stunning accuracy, it's very spiritual)

What blushingbride said is important, people should not base their whole lives on it. In fact the lady I use won't do readings any more than 2x a year for her clients because she doesn't want you to feel like you need her info to live (otherwise I would call her everytime I lost my keys or something haha). But that's another way to tell someone who just wants your money from someone genuine :)

Let us know how your predictions turn out!

That's really cool that she was able to work with you like that and help you through some hard times!
Agreed with you girls though that I'm sure some people would get carried away.. and base their whole life on it.
I'm getting even more intrigued..... trouble trouble! wink.gif

I went to see several of them in my early twenties (about 12-15 years ago). what I found out most fo the time is that these persons are really good at telling you your past and present, but super bad at your future - and will in fact only tell you what you want to hear at the moment.

Not saying that all of them are like that, probably there are some genuine ones in there ; but most of the time this is what I experienced.

These persons are really good at "reading" people : from your looks, your facial and body attitude and micro-expressions, your language. They will "test" you by saying things and see how you react to it, if they see they are in the right way they will go on.

Then once they have impressed you with those skills - most of them can be learnt... if you know the sow "lie to me" it's a good example wink.gif - they throw a few "predictions" at you that people here could have told you. Sorry but - you're with the one you will marry (nice, she saw your ring) ; you will be miles away sometimes but that does not mean you should separate (yeah... like every marriage) ; you will be a good mother (something you want to hear).

From all the "predictions" I received only the obvious ones happened : that I would change jobs for instance (everybody changes jobs). The rest of it was B*S. But it was fun !! Sometimes a rip off, but always fun !

Ayita-

You totally summed up my apprehensions! I was so torn between thinking was B.S., thinking it was funny, and thinking hmm it was kind of weird and wanting more.

It's great to hear and compare everyones thoughts/opinons/experiences so thanks for sharing and your honesty girls!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
