Wow…I know almost everyone says this but I seriously can’t believe it is almost time for me to leave! This forum has been a complete life saver, LITERALLY every idea for my wedding has come from someone on this forum and I can’t thank you all enough. So please know that if I used your template and don’t mention your name I am sorry…but VERY thankful! Be warned this thread is long but I was able to get so many great ideas from everyone here that I thought it was only fair to share every detail of what I ended up with!

 

Before I get into what you all really want to see I first want to thank Tammy for creating such an amazing place for all of us! So many people have helped me along the way I really wouldn’t know where to start in naming names to thank everyone for their ideas and inspiration! I do though want to give one big thanks to all of the other Las Caletas brides wink.gif if it wasn’t for you all I would not even know that such a special place even existed!

 

Ok ok, on with the goods!

After reading all the posts about the boarding pass STD’s I decided to tackle my very first DIY project. Looking back on them now…I would have done a lot of things differently on them but overall I was really happy and all of our family and friends loved them!

The next big thing I did was our invites a few months later…these were DIY too and I think turned out well especially considering I am not a crafty person at all!

Pre-Travel Packet, mailed about a month ago. Included a brochure ordered from VistaPrint, luggage tags that I made and a letter with some info I forgot to put in the brochure!

Here is my dress, it is a Maggie Sottero Philipa. I had the neckline altered into a sweetheart and am really excited about the way it turned out. Here is the thread with pics of it when I ordered it

I only have a couple (not very good pics) of me in it all altered!...my mom was more concerned that day with learning how to bustle it than taking pics of me in it!

We do not have a wedding party, just a flowergirl and ring bearer…here is her attire:

And I went a bit crazy on getting stuff for her..she is a girly girl and is so proud of being the flowergirl…I got her a tshirt from customizedgirl that said “in charge of the petals†she will wear that on the plane. I forgot to get a picture of that shirt before I gave it to her.

I have swimsuit cover-up for her and a flower tank top that I made:

This is her special OOT bag, that she will be able to carry to Las Caletas on the morning of the wedding. The bag is from JUST EMBROIDERED TOTES :

Our ringbearer is 10 and I had a hard time getting him “cool†things…there was no way he would wear a “ring bearer†tshirt so I didn’t even bother. I did get him some cologne, shirt and adidas bag… then when we get there I hope to get him a boogie board to use in the ocean because he is really getting into surfing

I bought these bags about a year ago at target and added my own tags…these were the biggest challenge to pack! I have a big box of them…

My embroidered Hoodie – Hoodie from Old Navy then I took it and had it embroidered at a local shop in Denver.

Since we also have a dessert bar, I think there might be extra cake so I have these boxes for cake-to-go then the bags will be provided so guests can put their cake, pashmina, maracas…whatever in and take back on the boat to PV.

Wow, you have really gone above and beyond! You have SO many things to personalize your day and your week...your guests are going to be blown away! I hope none of my guests see this so they don't know how lazy of a bride I am, hehe.

 

Great job on everything! I can't wait to hear about everything and see pics when you get back!

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

      Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
