that's right! when we did our site visit we found those items (toothpaste, sunscreen, toothbrushes) in the bathrooms at Dreams. But we had already bought them and gave them to my coordinator to hold. Wish I'd known! we had never been to a resort that included all those things smile29.gif

Sparkles- I agree with you, coming from the east coast and staying 5 nights is costing our guests a lot of money, we want to treat them!

This might be a stupid question, but what does "OOT" stand for? I have the same question. I have been looking at websites and talking to friends. You can't bring anything perishable with you going through customs in Mexico, right? So I think we will be depending on the Costco or Walmart that is there. Did anyone do that? Also, we were going to try to put snacks and water and such because the hotel restaurants are so expensive, we wanted to try to offset the cost by adding enough treats to tie them over til dinner. Did anyone do something like that? I was thinking of using the eco-friendly bags you can buy at the grocery store to use instead of monogrammed bags that look really expensive. I thought I would personalize by buying luggage tags to add with monograms or something. I am all over the place I guess. I just want them to be useful and cute and the same time. Any suggestions?

On average I spent about $15 per bag including the bag. I did go over budget on this, but like someone said in a previous post my guests have traveled far to come to the wedding (even from England) and we wanted to show our thanks. I think it's up to you how much you want to spend and really how much you can actually fit in your luggage :)

I was at my local trade show here in Thunder Bay, ON. I met a local vendor who had drawsting beach bags for $3.50. It was a perfect size as a beach bag, and can also be used as a day pack for excursions.

If you want it custom designed for your wedding, (screen printing, not iron on as the bag would melt due to material), they charge a $20 set up fee.

I like this bag because:

Of the material - sand won't stick to it

Of the size - fits towel, flip flops, camera, sunscreen & waterbottle

It comes in several 2 tone combinations

Has a drawsting closure

Can be worn as a backpack

I will try to go there within the next week to take pictures and post for other brides.

I also have a 5% off shipping card so I can save you a little on shipping.

We are going to have about 75 guests, and i think it will be around 40 bags. We budgeted $1000 so that would be about $25/bag. So far I have bought the bags (on ebay, 40 for $150) anti-bacterial soap from bath & Body works, pencils or pens and crossword/suduku books from the dodllar store, and spf lip balm from avon. I will also be doing the travel mugs and probably some frisbees/mini footballs and not sure what else.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
