I have 43 booked to our September wedding at Dreams and the invites are yet to go out. We are expecting up to 75.

I am wondering how much everyone is spending on Welcome Bags?

I know they can get really expensive, but it is such a nice touch for guests.

Thanks for the advice ladies!

Well I'm doing OOT bags and I purchased about 60 bags which cost me $125.00 then I provided some items inside not too expensinve. Mostly $1 store brought items. such as sanitizers, motion sickness medicine, since we are taking a cruise wedding, first aid kits, they were really cute I got them from Walmart for .97 cents, a nice theme favor. I don't think that they were all that expensive not if you plan in advance. We have been planning our wedding for a year and a half and what I did was brought items and then stored them, just be careful as far expiration dates.

In average I spent 10$ per guest, bags included. Per bag it's more, but you do only one bag per couple and I do not have too many single guests. The onyl things that I doubled are the hangover kit (one per person) and the favors. The most expensive item was the favors (I did plantable favors - overall 3$ pp), the rest of it I got mostly from Target, OTC, minimus.biz or Northern Safety (for the hangover kits).

minimus.biz is a great site for travel size items.

------------

In think ours will end up being about $25-$30 per couple including the bag. There are several kids going and their bags are about $8-10 each. Only 18 are planning on attending so the total is around $200. I would probably spend less if it there were significantly more guests.

Hello!

We got engaged last June and stated planning right away.
I specialized in Event/Wedding Planning in School so I have a bit of an added bonus.
We took our site visit last September. Our wedding planning is Gaby from Baja Wedding, who is simply the BEST! Photographer-Dino Gomez, DJ-Ricardo and Makeup/Hair-Suzanne Morel.
We are having the ceremony on the Gazebo and the reception on the Oceana terrace with the Caribbean buffet. We have 43 booked and receive our invites today. Our wedding party is HUGE, we have 13 people!!!

Any other questions feel free to ask! Have a good day!

check out blissweddingsmarket.com they have these really cute palm leaf bags.. I really liked a clutch bag they have for about $4.29 large size. Don't know how they look in person but I think they are very unique.

You can also check out Parrot Canvas Company. I ordered canvas bags for $16.50 they are really cute. I've been buying my welcome bag items for about a year and my wedding is in October. So far I have flip flops, sunscreen, toothpaste, toothbrush (I always forget mine and have to buy one when I get to my destination) dental floss, post cards, welcome letter and I would love to include monogram towels but I'm not sure yet.

I am just planning on putting together either a koozie, stadium cup or travel mug with some first aid stuff inside and the wrapping it in a clear celefane (sp?) bag, with raffia tied at the top and a label saying the party is just getting started as a welcome "gift".

I am doing this for a few reasons, #1 I do not want to stress my self out about trying to get stuff down there, this will be way smaller. #2 I have over 50 guests, #3 we are at dreams which provide a ton of toiletries incl sunscreen and #4 It is an all inclusive I can't imagine that people want more snacks and stuff.

This way I am giving them something to let them know I care but not stressing myself or the budget.

Our budget is $30 per bag. We feel like everyone is making a big effort to come so we would like to do a bag with a few larger things vs. lots of little stuff. Knowing me I will end up doing little stuff and big stuff and will go over budget! LOL That has been the case with everything else so far!! Where are you ladies finding stuff for your bags? Any good cheap sites?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
